Yes, but I would hope that if that were the case we'd have a conservatively small quality stadium instead of something like that soulless monolith in Darlo.

If they moved there then probably yes. If they were based there when I was born then probably no.

Absolutely yes, as long as it was a realistically sized stadium say around 15,000 I and many other Yakkers have travelled from the colliery areas for thousands of years to watch our beloved team although I don't have to now, cos I live in the town, incidentally it can take anything from 10 to 20 minutes to get from my house to the town centre but from here to Wynyard takes only 15 minutes maximum.
Moving to the outskirts of town wouldn't make much difference to most people to most people anyway never mind the out of town fans, how many fans already drive, get a bus, train, taxi or lift to the match already, if it was done right you'd be able to get all your food and drink there and more of the takings would be going straight into the club.
Just as long as they didn't move the club to a completely different town, then it will still be Hartlepool United, my club and yours, just a different church to worship in thats all.

Ive always thought of Wynyard as a part of Billingham,I couldnt say for certain but I dont think I'd carry on going if we went there.

i think it would be a struggle to get to every game no matter how well the team was doing. Hartlepool United belong in Hartlepool. The town centre location is ideal and I would hate it to change.........

I'd have no problem travelling to Wynyard. It would make very little difference to me. I certainly wouldn't believe we would lose any of our identity by such a move. Heck, depending where exactly sucha a hypothetical stadium was built it could even still be within the Hartlepool boundary. The MK/Wimbledon comparison is just daft. Snowy is talking about Wynyard not Wetherby, which would be a "move" of similar distance to that of MK.

Sarf, Wynyard is just west of the A689, at the Hartlepool exit. You're talking 5 or 6 miles from Hpool town centre
NOW HEAR THIS...NOW HEAR THIS...it's not gonna happen, I made the whole f***ing thing up......

it might help us sign better players - when they are brought to look around the ground they'd see the rural idyll that is Wynyard, with it's nice houses, rather than the town centre, with it's smack heads.

Id still go, but i cant see the point of having a ground in Stockton  refred

A good site would be near the Queens Meadow business park just off the A689, or even better, the land adjacent to Tees Bay retail park.

I'd still go of course but it would be a disastorous move IMO.
The ground is perfectly placed, within easy distance of pubs and shops etc... and I think you would get a lot of lads who decide to go last minute wouldn't bother if it meant having to catch a taxi up the 689.

You cant beat rushing to Silks after the match to see the where pools are in the table and catch the other results. clappp

new ground, possibly picking up a bigger catchment area.plus you could nearly turn out a team from the players who live on that estate, and get john hall in as chairman

moving grounds away from town centres and rebuilding them away from civilisation is the football equivalent of building retail parks. I prefer town/city centre shopping, and I prefer town/city centre football grounds. I hate going to Chester, Scunthorpe etc because it's a crap day out. Going to Carlisle has always been the same for this reason, their ground is on the edges of their town so there's no choices for drinking hostelries. For me, having the choice to have a few pints in more than one very overcrowded location is the essence of a good day out.

Good day out = Hartlepool, any London club, York, Blackpool, etc etc you get the picture

Crap day out = Hartlepool at Wynyard, Walsall, Scunthorpe, Chester, plus I imagine somewhere like Reading would be crap etc etc

To answer the question, I think my attendance at HUFC games at such a location as Wynyard would be approximately half the home games of a season. If we were playing crap, I would not go at all. That's what a potential disaster it could be for Pools, if people like me would bail out during the crap times. How many others wouldn't go there if/when we had a season like the last one?

Within a few years the name would change to suit the sponsor ..... North Tees has a certain ring to it and as the local catchment area displaces the Poolies so it would all change .....BUT IT AINT GONNA HAPPEN ... I was thinking more hmmm Marina ...opposite Focus on the corner from Staples....

What makes you think we don't get people from there already. Isn't John Hall a regular at Victoria Park?

Its not really what I meant.

We do have fans from those places.

But the new club would get others attending that arent really footy fans.

Like MK Donkeys.

It would be like watching a West end show.

Or Darlow.

Why do you refer to 'the new club', it would still be Pools just located a little further along the A689.

Because they're likely to go to the Boro. From about Trimdon Village down, you get an increasing number of smogies.

Let's be honest, it won't happen, no body would support us out of town, it's all sewn up.HOWEVER ...I now know the names of people who can expect a visit in the middle of the night when I take over the world, so this was a particularly fruitful exercise
