To all those were at Leeds today.

This stewarding and policing has to stop. I didn’t stand like a minority of our fans did but I believe the force used was completely over the top and unnecessary.

I also believe that people should be allowed to urinate in the toilets without fear of intimidation by stewards. I believe if a steward wants to have a word with a fan then the steward should wait for him to exit the toilets.

I also believe that policing and stewarding should be even handed and the same should apply to both sets of supporters.

I also believe that physical assault such as punching and headbutting is completely unnecessary and should only be used a last resort and only inflame the situation.

I also believe that a policeman should not put his face against another fans face in order to intimidate him for chanting “just because you’re losing”. I find actions like this highly inappropriate.

I believe the steward blocking Hartlepool fans from exiting and intentionally trying to intimidate them was wrong.

I believe Leeds United should take a lesson from other clubs such as Millwall and learn how to treat fans more appropriately.

These are just a few of the observations I have seen and I’m sure you have your own.

This abuse needs reporting. I urge all Pools fans who witnessed this abuse to send an e-mail to the following:

Football Supporters' Federation: info@fsf.org.uk
The FA: info@thefa.com
Leeds United: http://www.leedsunited.com/page/FeedbackForm
HUFC: enquiries@hartlepoolunited.co.uk

I also intend to make it clear that I won't be backing our 2018 bid if this isn't addressed as Leeds it a host city and I would be ashamed if fans from other countries were treated in this manner.

Thanks
Mr. Gaunt

Makes you wonder if they were deliberately looking for a reaction out of sight of CCTV cameras?

Imagine them stewarding England vs. Germany, Argentina vs. Brazil, any match involving Italy or Turkey. That would be a disaster.

There was that big scuffle with police and stewards in the top left corner and after dealing with a revolution on the scale of Cuba they emerged with a little squirt the size of Jimmy Crankie and ran him out of town.

Did anyone see what he did.

It did seem a bit OTT

fl@football-league.co.uk - apparently - if enough complaints are sent in, they have to look into it.

My point - is it legal for the black coated 'stewards' to be there - they have no visible ID on them!

As soon as they came into the ground they pulled a lad who had a pint - asked if he was under 18 - yet he'd been there long before they came in and wasn't bothered by the 'normal' stewards.

taz These guys need to get their comeuppance - hopefully one day they will!

I've done my e-mailing for tonight. E-mailed FL, FA, HUFC and LUFC. And also FSF just to make them aware of what went on.

I encourage everyone else who was there to do the same.

I was at the match today some copper grabbed me round the neck because i was askin if they were going to kick the Leeds fans out for standing up as well. Which I replied it was assault to which he kindly told me 'I will fucking assault you in a minute' at which point my dad had to drag me away when I pushed him back. It was the same copper that had his batten out and the same copper which started the aggro at the final whistle he was looking to start bother all match I hope he was one of the ones that ended up getting smacked. They are quite lucky that there was only a mini riot as the way they treated the away fans was shocking. I hope our stewards and police treat them exactly the same but obviously they wont.

These goons should be forced to have a licence a la bouncers to prove they're fit people to hold such a position of controlling a crowd. They also should wear numbers so they can be identified easily if they commit such misdemeanors. Finally I'm so glad we'll never see sight nor sound of bellend road again (although it would be quite entertaining if they went up and crashed straight back down again next season)..

I have recieved a reply from the Football League(FL@Football-League.Co.Uk). They would also like us to send it to football@leedsunited.com for the attention of the Safety Officer.

They have also stated that they will contact the Club for a copy of their response.

I would urge all who had problems with the barbaric stewarding to contact the FL and Leeds United's Safety Officer.

I emailed the FL last year about the same thing. They said they were awaiting Leeds response, and I haven't heard a thing since. Admittedly I didn't have the inclination to chase them up.

I'll give the FL and Leeds a week to get back to me.

Why not take it up with the Police Complaints Authority, as it was the police who were over-stepping the mark and allowing the illegal 'stewarding' to happen? You'd be sure to get a result then.

If by result you mean that your complaint will not be upheld, then yes, go ahead!

I was thinking along the lines of the Ian Tomlinson case earlier in the year, where complaints were successful, in the end. I suppose, as Mr Gaunt said earlier, a lot depends on having photographic evidence.

Been contacted by two lads arrested at Leeds -appearing in court early January.

They need eye witness accounts from anyone close to the melee near the end of the game. If you can help - please get in touch and I'll forward to them. Thanks.

Can you please tell us what they've been arrested for?

I wasn't close enough to see the melee but my observations are above. I'll ask some of my friends who were closer to it than me and see if they had a better view.

That's what I hope. Three Leeds fans at work have apologised over the club's stewarding. And one of them is complaining to the Football League like the rest of us.

The response team all had the 'qualified bouncer' armbands on so i guess thats how they get away with using them.

One for obstruction, one for swearing at a police officer!! he swearing one was right at the end - the lads wanted to leave and were told to sit back down.

Leeds have claimed they are being monitored for fans standing - so how come they allow there fans next to us to stand with no response team piling in?

I strongly, strongly, strongly, strongly recommend you conact the Football Supporter's Federation. They will help you:

08702 777777

I also urge you to get legal avice. Get written witness statement's from all witnesses you can gather.

RFB Legal can represent supporters throught England and Wales, securing a barrister local to the case. Any fees charged are also capped so you know from the outset what the maximum charges would be. The FSF's Amanda Jacks acts as liaison between the FSF and RFB Legal - email amanda.jacks@fsf.org.uk or call 08702 777777 for further information.
