After their abject display down here on saturday there is no way they will survive this season. They did have a couple of youngsters in but were torn apart from the first whistle to the last (dont say that very often of Torquay!) and showed very little enthusiasm to put things right. Wouldnt be a bit surprised if Staunton said "sod it" before the season is out.

Now I know some of you guys are worried about Pools going down but I think you will be ok, if it does happen then its not the end of the world (Blue Square Premier is!). Just unfortunate Darlo wont be there for 6 points.

Cheers Mr Daz and all that, but it's not so important now.

They're not on our horizon. That was before. :coool:

We live in different worlds.

darlo won't be back for a long long time. They'll need to do a Wimbledon/Aldershot and start again

Ever noticed that it's always in reply to a certain poster's nonesense and pointlessness?
It's called a testcard and was shown on TV when nothing of any significance was happening.

Daz, I;m interested in the BSP anyway..just HOW hard is it to get promoted nowadays?

Yes there were fewer full time pro's at that level then but there were 3 or 4 teams all capable of winning the league, the ONLY way to get promoted. Plus there was the strong rumours of Barnets Stan Flashman handing out money to the opposition of his rivals to encourage better performances! Add that to the fact regular promotion/relegation to & from the league was a novelty at the time, teams like Lincoln and Darlo were viewed as the big boys that needed bringing down a peg or two so every team had their biggest crowds of the season when we turned up, a big incentive for the teams we were playing.
Yes the BSP has more full time outfits now but there are increased chances of promotion, not necessarily as hard as it was. Still far from easy though, especially with the crap we've got playing for us at the moment.

Its getting worse every year and we got out at the right time. With just two places up for grabs its difficult. If, say, Oxford and Luton got promoted that would leave the likes of Cambridge, Wrexham, Mansfield, York, Kiddrminster etc still there and only two up the year after means some of those will be down for a few years.
There are some useful sides there too, Stevenage, Kettering (sorry!!) and Wimbledon. If Darlo go down then they will be there for a while at least. It took Exeter about 5 years to get back as its harder than it used to be.
Anyway you guys aint going anywhere near there and you can have a laugh at Boxing Day next season when Darlo host Gateshead and then trips to Eastbourne, Crawley...not nice!

Yes thankfully Stockport didnt tuen up but you still have to beat these sides and nice to get into the third round. Brighton at home not exactly a glamour tie but then again we never have had one of the big clubs...

Dont want a replay either as its a shite ground and terrible view for an away fan, as you lot know.
