Flinders 6; Settled after his early aberration, God knows what that going in would have done to his confidence, he recovered well though and the clean sheet will do him no harm

Austin 7; another good game, great ball for the third goal

Liddle & Collins 8; It's almost a given at the moment that these two are going to be excellent. We will do well to keep hold of Liddle in January, he's quality.

Hartley 7; Another steady game and a good finish

McSweeney 8; He can play! I was seriously starting to doubt him as a signing but he was excellent yesterday running at and beating people

Sweeney 6; Probably his best game of the season, made some of his old runs second half and on another day could have got on the score sheet. Hopefully it will give him a bit of confidence.

Humphreys 8; I reckon Carlisle was one of worst games I've ever seen Ritchie have for Pools, yesterday he was superb barely wasted a ball and covered loads of ground

Monkhouse 6; Drifted in and out of the game but always looked a threat

Boyd 9; Somewhere near his yesterday man of the match for me, love watching him when he plays that well. Seemed to enjoy playing with the Ice Man.

Bjornsson 8; Excellent, great touch and awareness but what I liked the most was he was putting himself about and giving the defenders a bit back. If he keeps that up we have a serious player.

My man of the match would have been the ice man purely on the improvement from the last time i seen him against grimsby in which he was shocking but only as bad as the others on the night.But i though Mcsweeney played a blinder also like you say running and beating layer with ease.I also think our back four is a vast improvement from last season Liddle certainly better in centre back then midfield no doubt about it.

Boydy was good but 9? Come on Peej!

I thought he had one of those days were everything he did came off, in hindsight it should gave been a ten

He was probably an eight but I wanted to give him MOTM.

We'll settle on 8.5 and say no more about it.

I posted on here after the Carlisile game slating the team and the performance. Therefore it is only right that I heap praise on every single one of them after yesterday.

Fantastic team performance and as much as I don't want to single out some more than other I have to say take a bow to:

Bjornsson, Boyd, McSweeney, Collins, Liddle and Austin. These lads were superb and the rest were very, very good!!!

I forgive you all for Carlisle and you made our 5 hour drive home and my birthday fooking superb!

Bjornsson was very good indeed.

But McSweeney was superb. He can be a massive player for us.

He honestly hasn't really impressed me at all until yesterday, in fact I was calling him worse than shite after Carlisle on Tuesday when he was shocking. He's full of energy and workrate I just haven't seen much else but yesterday he was actually going past people and showing a bit of skill, I hope he takes plenty of confidence from his performance and pushes on.
