Well, after the last couple of games, we've improved from 'abysmal'to 'dreadful!
If we keep this 'improvement up, by the New year we should be up to 'below average' and may even get a draw, (as long as the oppostion don't score).

...but you didn't, hence I'm posting this early....

Darlington FC.
On May 3rd, peacefully, surrounded by their remaining fan at the Northern Echo, echo, echo Arena, Darlo slipped quietly away after a long battle against relegation. Mourners are requested to meet at the Arena for a service of rememberance prior to the last rites being administered before the final defeat of the season. The Right Rev Staunton will lead the prayers at the shrine to St George, prior to internment to the Cionference..

I tell you what, that trip to Brentford on the last day of the season will be one huge party to celebrate Darlo going down.

If it was simply relegation that they were looking at I'd agree. But as things are looking a little bit more serious than that I can't say I'm extracting all that much pleasure from the situation.

I really can't bring myself to laugh at them anymore. It's like watching a drunk try to pull his trousers up. Horrible.

Sadly I no longer take any pleasure in Darlo's demise. I feel really sorry for them and the remaining hardcore support they have.

We have been close and bitter rivals for a long long time and now we have lost that. We have no genuine local rivals anymore and no real derby game. Which is very sad.

As a club and history wise we are very similar and this another example that should serve as a warning shot to those who want to see IOR spend a shed load of money we don't have.

I fear we will never play Darlo again and that for me is very very sad.

Look on the bright side, York are going well & could be coming the other way! Now that is a good away day! Pity they never got round to sticking a roof on the away end.

Concurring. It's very sad.
I must be getting soft in my old age.

If we're still in with a chance of survival come the last day of the season, I will pay for you to get bladdered. We'll be down by Easter.
