i was watching sky sports news and thought it hilarious watching a video of the liverpool players, just come off the pitch, in some room watching lyon on a tiny tv lose to lyon, all crowded round watching, hoping that someone else would pull them out the shit cos they've been a load of gash.

Surely, Benitez will be gone in the morning. It looks like they're not going to even qualify for the Europa League next year and now they are out of the Champions League, one of the very few things they thought they should have won this season.

Apparently he has the vote of confidence for now, but surely when a manager hears the words 'vote of confidence' his arse must be starting to nip at his undies :grin:

I wouldn't mind being in his position with a new 5 year deal signed only a few months ago

You know what will happen though?

Scousers everywhere will be up in arms saying the whole world is agaianst them and that it southern press conspiracy to knock them out of the champions league, and that they deserve better, and that there should be a loophole to find a way to let them back in, and that even if they finish 7th in the premiershit, whoever finishes 4th need to give up their slot to allow Liverpool back in. Derek Hatton will definitely not be supporting any bid to get Liverpool into the Champions League by the back door. He is the biggest Evertonian going and will be rolling around clutching his sides laughing. Only half of Liverpool will be beating themselves up up about Liverpool's demise, the rest will be there now trying to get gloating made into an Olympic sport so they can gloat for England.

This is Benitez record in Europe btw. Makes interesting reading...

2004/05 - Won Champions League
2005/06 - Champions League 1st knockout phase (lost to Benfica)
2006/07 - CL Final (lost to AC Milan)
2007/08 - CL Semi Final (lost to Chelsea)
2008/09 - CL Quarter Final (lost to Chelsea)
