Before Poyet left Leeds I heard that it was a dead cert that they were going to bid for Monkhouse in the following transfer window, so there might be a shred of truth to this unfortunately.

i doubt we will sell unless they offer a decent amount and turner thinks he can replace him with better. How much do you think he is worth?

£200,000?

I'd want £250k but I think we'd more likely get £100k if he says he wants to go. One of our best players and he'd be a miss.

Don't we already have another left winger in the reserves though?

Also, if Christmas was coming early and he leaves in January, wouldn't Christmas then be coming late? Or are you talking about Christmas 2010?! sctatchinghead

Contrary to what you think I don't actually want Monkhouse to leave as on his day he is obviously a very good player, I'd just like him to be more consistent instead of playing well once in every ten games like he has for the last two and a bit seasons since we joined League One.

I think his fee will depend on how much is left on his contract.
Didn't he sign for us in January, so it might actually be running out.

He'll be contracted until at least June 2010. Hopefully longer but probably not.

I think it'll be next Summer too.

If he lets him go then I hope he makes a better fist of finding a replacement than the forward players he has brought in since January because the rest of them have been far from exciting. Infact, Nardiello is probably the only one to totally impress me out of all of them...and there's been a lot.

Would Monkhouse want to move that far from home? Always thought when he was at Swindon that he wanted to move closer to Yorkshire?

I understood that to be the case too. Hopefully it still is.

Totally off topic but does Monkhouse still wear them sweat bands or has he stopped?

Dunno.

But if he does then they should change his goalscoring music to the theme from Fame.

Seeing as he hasn't broke into a sweat in the last 2 and a half years, I doubt it.

Paul Sturrock wasn't it? He said just after that he was right releasing Monkhouse even after he scored the winner down there.
