Stan Collymore: replace Wigan and Hull from Premiership etc

Stan Collymore in the Mirror wants teamsWigan, Bolton, and Hull out of the Premiership to be replaced with the likes of Leeds. He wants it to consist of the 20 - 25 "biggest clubs" with no relegation or promotion in order to attract more foriegn players. The biggest clubs have contributed the most over the last 100 years and deserve to be in over smaller clubs.

He also says teams like Barnley, Reading and Watford should never be allowed in like they have done in the past.

He wants the Premiership to be more like the NFL.

Possibly the worst column I have ever read.

What a tosser.

I've racked my brains for a gooh three hours and still cant work out what Mr Collymore WOULD be good at.

He was good at football.....but he didnt have the mental strength for it (HE WAS A BOTTLER). And ever since he quit, everything he's done has been rubbish. Rubbish presenter, rubbish actor, rubbish columnist, rubbish rapper (yeah you heard....he tried rapping). For christ sake Stan you were even rubbish at going into car parks late at night and watching strangers having it off!!!!

And yet every week you use a national newspaper to spread your rubbish in the faint hope that anyone in the world will take you seriously?! I properly pity you Stan. Very few people have your money, even fewer are as good a footballer as you were and I bet you've had it off with some right stunners. But I feel so sorry for you, because you've made absolutely nothing of your life.

So we end up with an Elite. Those 'unfashionable' clubs got there by succeeding whereas the likes of Leeds got where they are by not being good enough, it's called merit, you get rewarded for being a winner. Collymores world elite would be smug clubs playing smug football safe in the knowledge that they're playing with a safety net and need never fear failure again as their future is guaranteed. the TV would love it and it would become the biggest soap opera of all time ... Pools would be history and every no marl would become an expert from the safety of their front room or pub. The commercial side would go into overdrive and the game would descend into being an even bigger cash cow than it is now..a nightmare scenario.

I'm sure I read last year that Collymore thought he could STILL be a proffessional footballer as his body is as fit as a 20 year old as he's spent so much time out of the game and is at peak fitness rolfl

But it had to be in the Premiership as he was too good for anyone else....he had no offers. I wonder why.
