From recollection the stats showed Wilson to have better stats than Turner. Its not that stats that bother me though more the manner of performances under them. At least under wilson we played or at least tried to play football. Wilson has got Swindon, a team who supposedly have very few pennies to rub together, into 7th place. Ct has had more backing than any other pools manager who I can remember and we are playing terrible. We cant use the excuse that we have a clown in goal this season as it clearly is not the case.

Its not all doom and gloom though as Im sure a half decent managerial appointment would be able to achieve good things with the current squad

of course you are forgetting that Swidon got nearly £2million for that striker. So actually had loads of money...

And anyone who claims Wilsons teams tried to play football is a liar. The team didn't TRY at all, only Joel.

I was not aware of them having much money to spend but I may stand corrected.

As for saying that Wilsons teams did not try and play football, we will just have to agree to disagree then. I think we played better football under Wilson than we currently do under CT.

Swindon have two directors in the top 50 football rich list. One bloke has £350m and the other has £150m, so i'd be surprised if they were smashed.

Oh dear Mr B, I just wonder what your definition of football is.
You obviously weren't at Leyton Orient when we won 4-2.
Our football at the local infamous arena wasn't that bad either.
How many records were broken in our recent promotion season?????
Our current crowds mirror our current football.

MisterB I'm not a fan of Danny Wilson he did alright at Pools but that statement is complete and utter bollocks, Wilson since he was at Barnsley sends out his teams to get it down and pass it and under him we did always try to. We never ever watched anything like the tedium of last night, we might have been a bit more flakey away from home but at least we were watchable at home.

Me thinks Misterb was drunk when he posted that. This is the worst football we have played for years.

Once again I say you all need to think more before you post about Wilson. They bloke was a foookin moron.

Or have you all forgotton the number of times he left Joel, Clark, Monky etc out of the team?

Say your bits about turner all you wish, but dont foookin come on here with memories of Wilson that are make believe. banghead banghead

Isaid it at the time, and I will say it again.............I hated Pools under Wilson.

Nobody is saying that Wilson wasnt a moron, the opinion is that we played better football under Wilson. Im sure most of us agree on that.

I was thinking perfectly, as I said I'm not a fan of Danny Wilson but the football I watched while he was manager was never even close to the long ball tedium I watched on Friday. He is someone who advocates getting the ball down and passing it. Turner has started banging on about "getting plenty of balls into the box" he's turning into John Beck....

.....and the moral of the story is not to drink alcohol whilst on medication!!! :uhoh:

I think what i meant was we may have played shite football lately, but to even compare it with the half hearted guff we watched under Wilson is madness

....I am not condoning Turner for playing that rubbish we witnessed on Friday night though......that was pretty awful.

Too true.

Some of the so-called "football" we had to endure under Wilson was Godawful and at least as bad as the fayre served up on Friday night.

Friday was terrible but that doesn't make Danny Wilson fkin Santa Claus.

The thing about Wilson is that I could never understand his team selections, tactics or substitutes. The amount of times he played people out of position was very frustrating to me. The thing about Turner is I would have picked exactly the same team as he did against Brentford, as well as for most of this season. I'm not quite sure what is going wrong but I'm prepared to stick by the manager at this current time. On the surface he appears to be doing ok (obviously apart from the results). His purchases have seemed to be good quality too.
