...having a laugh. I've always taking the evolution theory for granted till my daughter started asking the awkward question ...."but how does it work? ....just because something develops, HOW DOES IT HAPPEN .... how does it know it wants to develop .....and into what? ...plus Dad, if it's developing to avoid predators it will take thousands of years and they'll be wiped out ... I think it's all just a load of accidents of nature"....
She has a point y'know! confised

I've always wondered about this evolution thing. If it is true how comes it doesn't happen all of the time, for example how come there are no 'missing links' between, say apes and humans (Hangus excepted that is). Why haven't we grown wings to aid travel (Batman excepted this time). And why aren't all centr halves like Michael Nelson?

there are links but they are not missing. many fossils of them have been dug up. the reason there are still monkeys "but there are still monkeys!!" morons will shout, is because they are part of a totally different evolutionary line.

because we are too heavy. our bones are too dense and to fly, we'd need absolutely massive wings and wouldn't have the energy to flap them.

the evolution theory is perfectly reasonable once you get your head round it and look at the facts.

Not as much as your Grandkids'll shudder when they have to come round for Sunday tea, and find you hanging out of the window, drunk, wet of trouser and threatening the local hoodlums.

Speaking of men with wings....

Late last year I was working on a system upgrade and was talking to one of the other contractors on the site and happened to mention I watched panoramas bird flu episode

I then said if you caught it and survived you would then be able to fly

The thick brummie silly boy actually believed me!

Which goes to show brummies havent evolved since caveman times

I wonder if it's possible to calculate the best period of time in history to have been alive (assuming the status of normal everyday Joe Bloggs)
