Undoubtedly, a top bloke. It used to take about 5 minutes into the lesson to change his train of thoughts back to his wartime exploits and stories. True gent.

The Tech seemed to be his kind of school. Didn't seem to get on with High Tunstall.
A gentleman indeed.

"The desert was so hot you could fry bacon and eggs on your truck bonnet."

Never mind history, his stories were what we wanted to hear. He had the attention of every class he taught. How many teachers today can claim the same? clappp

Blimey I remenber him! Sound bloke. Didn't he also play footy for The Mags reserves? Seem to remember him spinning a yarn about a player called Sammy Weaver who either had a massive throw in or headed a goal from the half way line or summat. No wonder I failed my History A level!!
