If I may dare to offer an opinion on this subject.
The idea is a very good one and quite a lot of people took up the challenge. Well done to them.
In the first half they were virtually non stop in their efforts but it is true that it was difficult to hear in the CK, where I was.
This is no doubt an accoustics problem and, in no way should that detract from the magnificent efforts of all concerned.
Well done to all concerned, but a better accoustical position is required in my opinion.

As usual agreeing with Derwent fully. Good effort but could hardly hear anything in the CK. Its a shite stand for singing in, would be good if we had the Rink End back.

agreeing with Tree about the rink end. get those seats out and get the singers back behind the goal.

Like Tree said, Derwent talks a lot of sense.

Would the rink end have better acoustics than the town end currently does? Surely if we took the seats out of the rink end and moved back in there then we are just going to split the fans up even more than we currently do. Surely if people wanted to get together to sing it would be happening each game behind the town end goal. The fans have the capability of making plenty of noise how the ground currently is, but for whatever reason it isnt happening. Or am i missing something sctatchinghead

if my memory serves me correctly then the acoustics of the rink end were quality!!!

give us both the town end and the rink end and give the away fans a scabby little bit of the mill house end.

Pools fans being returned to the Rink end is a good idea, to me and many other's your own fans behind both goals is an advantage. Bring back the changing ends to stand behind the goal we're kicking towards.

Cant ever see the police allowing Pools to give part of the Mill House to away fans, but cant see any problem with them being put in the CK. It still keeps them on the Clarence Road side for easy access and egress to the ground.

I did return to my usual position in the Town End for the second half yesterday and a few did ask if there was singing going on as they couldnt hear much , so something needs to be done , though the important factor is that the players can actually hear any singing and respond to that. That of course may not be the case if people in the CK couldnt hear then it highly likely players on that side of the pitch heard anything as well.

easy option is make the singing section in the town end were the acoustics are better

Why not give the Town End to away fans and Pools have the Rink End.

The club would benefit too because they could charge an extra couple of quid for people to sit down. Plus it'll be a bigger end for Leeds etc.

The acoustics in the town end are just as bad, if not worse than the mill house

The rink end is the only place where any noise can be made in the Vic, 100 away fans can be heard right across the ground.

We need the rink end back.

How about instead of moaning, griping and bumping your gums, you actually get off your cynical arses and join in next time?

Show me where i moaned, griped or bumped my gums, i made a statement based on what i witnessed, i wasn't negative, didn't slag anyone off or say it was a bad idea.

Get a grip man!!

Or, having now found the post and seen the time it was posted, Mr Thornley was on about can number 20 and incorrectly paraphrasing.
