h/t 1.0 monky.

playing alright. walsall have looked quite dangerous when getting crosses into the box. nice goal from monky after good pass from ritchie. players who have played well are flinders collins, lidds, austin v good. sweeny and behan have struggled altho behan did hit sweet free kick. we look ok when the ball is kept on the deck as usual.

Humphries didnt do much to be honest. certainly no more than Jones would have done anyway. He played a nice pass for the first goal like.

Humps was my and most people around me MotM he sat in the hole and let Sweens bomb forward, He played the Boland role VERY VERY well. he also intercepted a lot of crucial balls before they made it through to there strikers Jones wouldnt have he isnt that type of player.. Humps was well wasted at LB.. Welcome back Humps clappp

What a load of crap. He did ok but nothing special. I said pre kick off that even if he doesnt play very well, he will still gte people wanking over him. An improvment il agree but it still should be Sweeney sat on the bench.

oh come on. I new this would happen however he played today. I was one of the ones saying that he deserved a chance in the middle and yes, he did 'ok' but Jones would have done everything Humps managed to do. Oh, and anyone who thought humps had a better game than collins is an idiot and knows nothing about football. The love affair with Humps is ridiculous. Yes, he did alright, but motm rolfl

I did not mean you, I was talking generally. He will get good ratings from 90% of fans because of who he is regardless of how well he plays. There is no way he did 'very well' but he did ok.

he added balance to the midfield and kept it ticking over nicely. He was shouting, organising. Nothing spectacular but brought experience to the middle which is exactly what we need.

Its about time people realise sometimes it doesn't matter if a player plays great, they could do ok....What is important is what affect it has on the team. 3-0 speaks for itself

Its a bit short sited thinking you can fix a team problems by swapping one person for another. That's the problem with most fans who claim to know football, they think by highlighting one player they have the answers to the teams problems.

I think if it was that easy we would all be football league managers.....

You have to remember that these fookers would argue in an empty cell. Which is where they need to be put.

How can you find a downside to a 3-0 home win?? sctatchinghead

I just want Mr Tree and Mr Grave to reply to this. Come on, tell me what was bad about winning 3-0 at home??

You are not allowed to use the word 'opinion' otherwise Dibble is coming round to eat your spleen, sauteed gently in 20/50, while still attached to your body.

Then I'm coming round to piss on the rest.

Once again people cant read posts and see what they want to see.

It doesnt matter what he does he will always be called by some people, i thought he was spot on today just what we have been missing in midfield. I thought he was terrible at LB last season but he always give 100%, a true professional

I said someones opinion was "crap" does that equal "finding a downside to match"? No.

I said Sweeney should be on the bench imo not Jones. does that equal "finding a downside to match"? No.

I said he was nothing special today but agreed with Misterb that he made a diffference. Muttley agreed he was nothing speccial today. So are you gonna accuse him of the same? Course your not. Is saying someone played well but nothing special "finding a downside"? No.

Grow up.

From what I can see nobody is moaning about winning 3-0. sctatchinghead

The claim that Ritchie could have got MOTM was just highly debatable thats all.

He did 'alright' and I would like to see him play there a few more times to see if he can improve. He has been out of the first team for while so may not be at his sharpest.

I would say however though that we may get a bit over-run in away games if he plays there. Just a thought.

I find it quite funny how when people make stupid comments and get it utterly wrong that they then make it out as if they were only looking for a bite.

And if thats not right then surely looking for bites and trying to cause conflict on purpose is a bannable offence?

Humphreys had a great game. Wasnt my man of the match, but played the role that has been missing all season.

He sat in front of the back four picked up the loose ball and gave it to Monky and Browny.

He was superb, without being spectacular.

Just what the holding midfielder should be.

Anyone who thinks anything differently should really go and watch a different sport.

That is very fair and apt comment. Humps kept it simple, tried to pass to feet and put in our best holding midfielder performance of the season.
Humps has always been at his best when playing in midfield.
Football is a team game so I don't pay too much attention to this MOM business, but if I was asked which player was the most outstanding at doing his job, the decision would be Sam Collins by a country mile. Never put a foot wrong.

Humphreys had a decent game but Walsall were that poor it's hard to say whether he's going to be a decent long term option there. I still don't think he's a patch on Jonesy.

Considering it was his first full game back though and in a position he's not totally familiar with I thought he did very well.

Agree totally.. Also thought he was great with the passing move for the first goal. It also looked like we had a balanced midfield today and the first time at the Vic this season we werent over run in the middle. How we fare against other teams with that midfield will be the biggest test.

Most definitely. He worried me with his first few passes which were all wayward but put in a good shift, do you put Jonesy back in if fit though? Or do you go Jones and Humphreys?

I still don't think Sam Collins is good enough to play in this league......one good performance yesterday does not make up for the countless mistakes he mas made prior to this..

I watch him quite closely in games and he makes some basic decision making errors. If he is up against a pacy front pair he shouldn't play, however up against big teams playing direct football he should play. And he should never of been made captain. But yesterday he was immense...end of story

At the start of the season I would have agreed with you but I think you are being a bit harsh on him. I think he has been one of our most consistent performers this season and probably our best player so far (although it is a close thing with Flinders). The defensive record away from home suggests he may be alright at league 1 level but as with all things lets give it a few months and judge then. We will have a good idea about the players and indeed the manager in another month or two.

I do think Collins and Liddle compliment each other quite well and with Austin on the right we should have a decent defense . I would love it however if we switched Sweeney to right back and Austin to left back. For me, that would be a very good back 4. I think Sweeney was excellent as a right back.

Read the Sam Collins thread mate - a few of us think he has been player of season so far. Obviously it's a game of opinions of course...............

Sir Richie had a good solid game and that goes hand in hand with a 3-0 win.
Collins was fantastic yesterday and he played with a smile on his face to show how much he enjoyed it.

This season he has easily been my player of the season so far. Yeah last season he was poor but he had family troubles, wasnt fully fit and had that arsehole Nelson alongside him.

To suggest he aint good enough for this league is ludicrous.

Howay Tree, he is entitled to an opinion. You know what its like when people slag you off for having one. I could name some players in our team who I dont think are up to league one and some people would say im being ludicrous.
