I boycott Greggs now, they've been shiite for years.

Today I was in Pocklington and enjoyed a very nice corned beef pastie from a local bakers, a bit dearer than a Greggs effort but worth about 10 of them.

Greggs pasties are all floppy and moist nowadays, like they've been microwaved then kept in a plastic container.

By contrast, the local pastie was solid with just the right amount of crispiness to the flaky pastry. There was definitely a higher corned beef v potato ratio to the filling than the Greggs slurry, which is like pink coloured Smash.

Local pasties from local bakers is the way forward.

I bought a Scooby Doo biscuit from Greggs the other day and it was very nice.

The hundred or so unmarried teenage mums and their kids who live off Greggs will disagree, Mr PiN.

You can't beat a Scooby Snack from the caravan at the junction of the M8 and Sauciehall St in Glasgow ... in your bun you get bacon, flat sausage, fried egg, black pudding, tattie scone, mushrooms, beans and lashings of tomato sauce. :coool:

yeah - the irish stuff is supposed to be good for you, not sure how good it is for you if you have 7 or 8 pints like I intend to on saturday, might have to swap between guiness and the tried and trusted vodka fresh orange to avoid getting too full....
