He's not from Cornwall, he's not got a wooden leg and he's not got a pasty in his beard but Colum Sands, a member of the Sands irish dynasty is on at Froddy Folk Club the first Friday of next month. The secret of the Irish boomerang will be revealed.

And I booked to see Karine Polwart Scottish singer/song writer in Buxton in November before I found out that in the same tour she is on at the Brindley in Runcorn 10mins down the road from Froddy.

Richard Hawley in The Sage next month. Spiritualized in the same venue in December doing Ladies and gentleman we are floating in space. I've done 3 festivals this summer plus Dockfest and Stockton. It's wall to wall tunes for me.
I'm concentrating on the return of my band, Mr Dog who are doing their first gig in 5 years next month. Should be interesting!

Off to see Orbital tonight, U2 (supported by Muse) when I’m in the States at the beginning of October, and Spiritualized playing “Ladies & Gentlemen…” in it’s entirety in mid-December. :coool:

My last gig was new Sunderland band Frankie and the Heartstrings, recorded for a to be released live ep. My next gig is Frankie and the Hearstrings supporting Field Music and Futureheads on October 4th in Sunderland. I know most of the Heartstrings and the drummer is one of my best mates. They're also supporting Florence and the Machine in Brixton Academy and Glasgow - not bad for a band who've only been going less than a year.
I cant be arsed with big prices and big bands anymore. Local Music at cheap prices is what I'm after.
Bands I will also see in Newcastle this year:
Les Cox Sportifs
B>E>A>K
Moira Stewart
Field Music
and err...Frankie and the Heartstrings

and I reckon that so called local bands are as good as if not better than 'national' bands.
The North East has some great bands who deserve peoples support.

Will you marry me BWH?!

A kicking is what they deserve - that goes for the people in this town regarding the football teams they "support" as well.

Why are the masses of this town so clueless and thick in everything they do, and in every aspect of their lives?
