Take that do perfect 'mam' pop songs.

Hate them, but barlow is very good at writing a song he knows people will love.

Hard to argue with that Elvis. Gigolo Aunts did a pretty good version of it.

I wold say West End Girls by the Pet Shop Boys is almost perfect pop. Girls Aloud, Biology combines lots of musical styles yet comes out as perfect pop.

Deeply Dippy by Right Said Fred is perfect pop.

I've just realised that I sound well gay!!! bbolt

Can't do Youtube so I have little idea of what you're on about, I just see big, big, empty spaces but I'd say the perfect pop song is 'There She Goes,' by the La's.

Well, again, ta, but I can't get Youtube here. Some nutter posted the Xinjiang riots on it, with the best of intentions I should add, showed the nutters chucking rocks at the Police and the Police being very restrained and surrounding and quietly lifting them.

Consequently, in case someone studied their tactics, they shut the whole thing down. sadx

Not necessarilly the Perfect Pop song, but I've been wracking the memory banks and came up with this as a possible candidate........

Just for you Spender it's Carrie Anne by The Hollies

Bringing two threads together is this Caster Semanaya's idea of a perfect pop song.

For out and out 'pop' songs you gotta include pretty much anything by Take That. Whether you like what they do or not, they do it exceptionally well.

My other offering is these from the golden age of Glam Rock;

and (I know, I know. But you can't do glam rock without including him)

That's 'cos they might not get the PRSA money from the billions of Bahamian Nazareth fans who'd be queuing up to rip it.

Anybody arguing will have to have pretty good reason.

So many to choose from - this one's a bit strange. Took quite a while to download on my pc but well worth the wait.

For Kev - it's Transmission, the Joy Division number done by a steel band.

Brilliant - really good that, like Unfinished Sympathy at a right angle. I don't get to see many 'pop' videos nowadays, but I bet there will be loads of similar 'bands on flat beds' videos knocking around in the near future, if there aren't already. (Probably is a hugely wellknown video that the steelband clip is copying and has passed me by mind, bugger it, i'll go back to lurking)

I usually keep out of music threads as my knowledge is limited to 80s Pop :uhoh: but I have been trying to find this song on youtube for ages and finally stumbled across it tonight. To be honest, not even sure it's pop but I think it's fantastic
