Bought the DVD today from Morrisons....3 Disc Edition....for £3.99!!!! :coool:

I've watched the Documentaries on Disc 3 today....didn't realise it was that bad!!!! :shock:

I'd have just pulled the Troops out and bombed the fecking place!!!! :evil:

Anyway....I haven't watched the Film yet....was going to watch it tonight with the bairn but she's out in the street with her mates.... confised

....is the Film any good????

Yeah....but look closely....some are only 1 Disc & 2 Disc!!!! confised

The 3 Disc one is in a 'Camouflage' Cover with No picture on the front!!!! :grin:

Try Iluminados por el Fuego. Incredible film with fearsomely realistic battle scenes. English subtitles available.

Just watched a Trailer for it....then went onto Amazon and ordered it!!!! :coool:

An outstanding book is We Were Soldiers Once .. And Young. The film ain't bad, but the battle description is amazing. And the heroism on that battlefield. Unbelieveable.

Basically....A bloke gets out of Nazi occupied Norway and gets into Scotland during WW.II and then goes back into Norway....to Sabotage Nazis Operations in Norway....with a 4 man team!!!! :coool:

Can't remember exactly....but 3 die/get caught....and he's left....he survives living in a Snow Cave 'hidey hole' for Months/Years....etc etc!!!! :coool:

I'm very 'Flippant' about it....cos I can't remember the full story....but what I do remember after getting 'Lent' the book is that....'I've never ever heard of a Survival story like that'!!!! :shock:

The lad who I borrowed it off years ago I phoned the other week to check the Title....so I ordered the right book....and I have!!!! :coool:

It's the Yanks re-inventing history as they normally do and Disneyfying it. It's based on a true story, but it was Jewish soldiers, usually of Palestinian origin, 'short circuiting the legal system' postwar and deasling out their own justice.
What next, Agincourt with US special forces archers, the Dambusters with Tom Cruise as Guy Gibson ..... all American Hero...they have no history so 'borrow' other peoples and tweak it.
