Those that follow bands such as:

and

We are Cool even though only 6 people like our music.

and the likes:

And those that listen to a former fisherman from some cornish village, with pieces of cornish pasty logded in his scruffy beard, and a wooden leg, singing old folk songs about some stupid c-u-n-t in 1824 that went sea fishing in a hurricane never to come back, leaving a wife and 18 kids with nothing but dead mice and cockroaches to live on forever. Then returning some 20 years later to tell his missus he still loves her.

Well. My youngun got the new Greenday album for his birthday the other day, and its bloody marvellous. Even better than American Idiot. Fant bloody tastic to be honest. So there.

I used to like them, first 3-4 albums very good, but the term 'sold out' was probably invented sum up green days change.

I'm a bit of a purist dibble i always seem to like the 1st/2nd album a band brings out, the earlier stuff is raw, no expectation rock music, not played for a certain audience but played for themselves.

Then record companies get involved, money gets involved, sounds change to accomodate fashion/current market etc etc

Never mind Greenday. Where can I find that song about the sea fisherman who returned to his family 20 years after vanishing in a hurricane never to return. Sounds exciting, that one.

Green Day are fooking fantastic, love the new album but dont think its any better or any worse than american idiot, dookie was fantastic but everything in between that and american idiot was decidedly average (except warning which was ok). Anyone accusing them of selling out is n't a fan, if you listen to the lyrics you'll realise thats the last thing they are doing.

i'm going to see them in Manchester on 31st October and can't wait

I read in nme that they are working with someone to turn american idiot into a musical which will feature on the west end.

They also did an album under an alter ego (foxboro hot tubs-stop drop and roll) in between american idiot and 21st century breakdown as a side project which is a great listen.

I'll admit Green Day are good...even if they are a little "dark", shall we say?

Boulevard of Broken Dreams, released in 2005. - A good song for 'Pools after we lost the Play-Off Final. sadx

"Time of Your Life" and "Wake Me Up When September Ends" are also good songs.

They actually wrote that song kent in honour of our play-off defeat, bit of music trivia for you there kent.

They had a song in the pipeline just incase we 'extracted revenge' for that final defeat, when we played them in pre-season, unfortunatly we lost.

What you should do is to make music as well as listening to it. Thats why I like that cornish fella with the wooden leg. He's having a go as are all the do-it-yourself music bands that I get to see going to Hot Club gigs. I don't like a lot of them and thank god for half hour sets but it's it's good they get venues to make whatever sort of music they want to.

BTW Hot Club have re-signed with Moshi Moshi.

A CD and Two EP's...they do a version of them on vinylle or is it vynille or vinil........ you know that plastic stuff.

They'll be touring with the new records.

The CD is done already they produced it themselves and sold it to Moshi.

was the hit parade like a chart show or summit?

I can't believe people still follow charts.

Do bands still release singles into the charts?

I'm out of touch since TOTP stopped.

Personally I think it's rude to wear them out and about and also quite dangerous. But hey, I'm an old fogey I s'pose who thinks that it's polite to be able to hear if people are talking to you and believes that manners cost nowt.

Obviously if your with friends it's very rude, i would never do that, but if your on your own, it's not rude at all, if you see someone you know, take your headphones out, simple as.

I never bothered with an i-Pod 'cos I used to see anyone who was anybody and a lot of bands who weren't anybody every summer since 1989 live, right up to 2005 when I moved over here. I'm old as well, but oddly enough it never seemed to bother me. I can still sort out who's good or who's not.

Fu ck i-Pods/MP3 players. Go live, and when you're at home with a bottle of wine and a computer the size of bus, turn up the volume and relax.

Who wants a band whispering in your ear, do you think the band wants it as well?? sctatchinghead sctatchinghead

The kids here play a lot of music through their mobile phones and it sounds fookin DREADFUL.
