Apologies for being a bit more calm  Im just trying a bit of 'positive thinking' this season. Im finding that im getting less stressed about pools. There is more to life afterall.

I hope its not a sign that a care less about the club these days but I have a nagging suspicion that im less devoted to pools now than I ever have been. I used to go to away games quite often and this was when we were struggling under Houchen etc. Nowadays I just dont feel that I can get so emotionally involved in the club. Maybe the lack of effort from the club (and I mean the whole club from Chairman down to the players) over the past few years has made me waver slightly (especially the dross of the centenary season). Some of the gutless performances in the last couple of seasons coupled with such a 'distance' between the fans and the club seems to have affected me.

The trouble that EAD and others has gone to to try and address the atmosphere issue is a good example. It should not take a few supporters to set such a thing up! It should come from the club itself! banghead

At least the club are listening to the supporters, they could have just said welcome to the board

How can the club do this though? It has to come from the fans.

The club have shown, with this, that they are prepared to listen and to collaborate. How can we expect anything more from them.

CT has improved things on the pitch, others are helping to improve things off it.

Its the fans that have let the team down with the poor atmosphere.

If we really have reached a point that we have to entertained before we support the team, then the game has definitely gone to hell in a handcart.

It was NEVER that way.

This shows that the club and the fans are as one again.

Thats all I needed, and asked for.

Congratulations to all concerned.

You have misunderstood my point. My point is that the club could quite easily have realised that there is a lack of atmosphere. Im sure Ct has noticed it. They could have done something about this before now, ie come up with the same proposals that a few fans have done in this case!

If the club are an efficient business then they should be proactively coming up with such ideas surely!

Credit to the club for accepting these proposals but THEY should be the ones coming up with such proposals to improve matters.

as I said the club could have just said piss off. They have been trying to do things, the "ask chris" items on website and question/answers nights. They listened to the fans about the run out goal music.

What more do they have to do, give your a free scarf and a pint when you go into the ground?

Actually that might be a great idea

Can I have two pints and no scarf?

I understood your point fully, hence my first response.

A proposal like this HAS to come from the fans.

It doesnt at all ADG. The club could quite simply have acknowledged the problem and put a press release out saying that to address the lack of an atmosphere they were allowing fans to move to the designated area of the Mill House to try and create some atmosphere and invited those willing fans to try it out.

If the supporters did not take to the idea and merely stayed in their own seats then there would be nothing lost. If they decide to switch to the millhouse all the better.

There is no reason whatsoever why the club could not have come up with such a plan but as usual the club are not proactive merely reactive. It should not take the fans to suggest such an idea!

Grave, if it had been decreed by the club less people would've been interested. This is a fans type of thing that had to come from the fans FOR IT TO WORK BEST.

Yes, HUFC could have suggested something similar but surely it is the supporters job to support the team and come up with the best ideas for doing so?

Fair enough, maybe i am wrong.

Im not saying it is not a great idea, I just think that the lack of atmosphere has been apparent for ages and I think the club could have suggested come up with such an idea. The specifics of it such as what stand and what match etc could have been worked out afterwards with the fans input.

It doesn't matter what the club do or the fans say there will be always always knockers out there. You have to read the letters page in the Mail to see people moaning about everything and anything!!!!!

If we won 5-0, with a 500 strong singing section roaring the club onto victory, there would still be people complaining.
