we all slated Nelson for similar comments just found this on the Snail website from Flinders:

Flinders said: "Being in the England set-up at 18, you do see the other side of football – the better side really.

"The players that I played with through the England ranks are now Premiership players and that's what I want to strive towards.

"It's always nice to have a grounding with those sorts of players.

"They're doing well for themselves and I want to be where they are now."

He added: "I don't want to disrespect Hartlepool but I want to be a Premiership player.

"I think all the lads in the dressing room do.

"It's getting my career back on track and having a manager and goalkeeping coach who back you.

"I needed to come down to take two steps back up."

Now I think he has gone about his comments the right way and he is correct every player wants to play at the best level. Wanted to know what people though and are these comments similar to Nelsons?

I agree with Flinder's comments absolutely nothing wrong with ambition and his ambition is to reach the top.

I will always disagree with any players who come out with the

"I've joined a bigger club" statement

Nelson said it so did Graeme Lee, when in fact the club's they joined were / are in the same division as Pools. So in my opinion Flinders words are totally different to Nelson's.

I have no idea why Nelson joined Norwich, the alleged signing on fee of £50k may have had something to do with it, the bigger club has nothing to do with it. As I keep saying they in our division because they weren't good enough for the championship.

For Flinders to play in the Premiership he'll have to be consistently good for us over a long period of time.

It's great that one of our keepers can show some ambition and us take it seriously, I mean can you imagine the reaction if ALB had come out with that!?!

Flinders has got ambition, but what really strikes me is he is willing to work his whatsits off to get where he wants to be.I can see a nice big transfer fee if he succeeds.
Good luck to the lad. Eleven attitudes like his pulling the shirt on every week and we're going places.

Or on the other hand he can run his contract down & get himself a nice big signing on fee instead.

So what?

If he plays well enough for us for a few years to warrant that then we'll do ok out of it.

I'd be more worried if he said..." Actually I'm not that good at being a Keeper, but I'm more than made up to be getting my place every week in this division. I wouldn't fancy playing any higher and I'm more than happy to play at this level till my contract runs out. I must admit I've always fancied the Conference, that's what I'd be happy aiming for."

Whereas Darlo's goalie was so impressive, Bob Todd has had to go and sign a new one today

I think it's disrespectful, as Nelson's comments were as well. Diarra said something similar when moving to Portsmouth.

He only been here 2 minutes and he's talking about his next move.
