interesting idea. For some reason i dont think the club would allow it (people changing stands with a season ticket) it would definately create a bit of atmosphere though.

So a kind of 'singing' day as opposed to the 'flag' days of a couple of years back?

Sounds good, but would be a ticketing nightmare

i remember printing 2000 copies of the words to two little boys before THE Darlo game when Joe scored at the death, I remember thinking, 2000 song sheets gotta get people going that! and then when the teams came out I thought by thats a lot of paper confetti someone has brought...

Never understood the reasoning for the club not changing ticket, I tried it once when my dad was on holiday tried to change his Cyril ticket for a town end one so could stand with my mates, Sharon et al wouldnt do it in the clubs shop. I just walked outside waited for a bloke on his own to walk near the town end turnstile asked if he wanted to do a swop he said yes, went to cyril passed my dads season ticket back through fence, job done.

If you don't ask you don't get. Go through Chris Turner maybe?? He seems to want better support and less moaning.

I agree, for it to work I suspect it would need the backing of someone like Chris. If you simply approached the assistants in the office I suspect the answer would be 'no'

Iv never once been refused moving end with my season ticket, I just ask the people at the turnstiles and they always say no problem.

Good idea but knowing the club they will say it could end up with too many people etc in one end and could be a safety concern.

Can we (by that I mean The Bunker and the Into The Blue boards) get our heads together and try and affect this?

It was sort of talked about before...perhaps all get together and have an "Away-Game-At-Home" day??

The club would have to help by allowing tickets to be used in another bit of the ground etc...

Sounds like an idea?

Right. So can we get bthis sorted then. Anyone have a word with someone at the club?

I suggest its got to be somewhere with a roof for even better atmosphere. So town end or Mill House seats?

There are plenty of kids singing in the town end, just not very well, or very well orchestrated.

If we could get a few of our loud fans(EAD and Codyakker  ) in amongst then lot, we could give this team the backing they deserve.

So can we make it a date? 26th Sep 09.

Are we all in concurrence? Or is there someone that would just refuse to move for one game?

great idea steely boys would be up for that

Its a good idea but one which I don't think will generate a lot of inteest. Yeah, a few on here will go along with the idea even myself and i'm a Cyril Knowles seated regular, but for it to make an impact you need to be looking at least 100 fans together and creating a decent atmosphere which the team and the manager would recognise.
Maybe we should pool our resources together in asking fans to support their team in a more positive way rather than getting on their backs when we go behind.
Mind as I said earlier, If we start winning games the support will come back, if we don't its just not going to happen.

This is a good idea and think unlike mr tree says would be supported by 100+ fans. All it requires is advertising on places like the bunker, the flag and the millhouse. I am sure if 100+ people can turn up for the PK free gig before Charlton then it wont take much for those already going to the game to stand in another area of the ground.

I say the Mill House Seats....Rink End blocks....as we already have Mr.Dough and his Rabble just below those seats on the Terrace and they always try to get the singing going anyway!!!! :coool:
So I think that would be better....people just move along the Terrace to the singing....people in Seats move along to the Rink End Blocks and others from other parts of the Ground can take their pick....Mill House Seats or Terrace....job done!!!! :coool: :coool:

BTW....err....yes I'm already in the Seats so I don't have to move!!!! :uhoh:

It's a great idea.

Isn't it sad how football has gone though where we have to think of doing things like this?!
I know Boro are also trying this out [and the old holgate end was always bouncing years ago - dont ask me how i know mind.......I couldn't face the humiliation that would get heaped on my shoulders  ] , and even the Liverpool fans on the mighty Kop are doing it - moving to a particular section to the atmosphere going.

There definately has been a shift in attitudes by football fans or the new generation[s] of football fans where we turn up with a "here we are, now entertain us" attitude.

Its sad and wrong in equal measures.

What do you think is to blame for it?

There were 320 in the car park plus more standing outside the enclosed area at one point , so there should be , like you say, no problem mobilising the Blue Army for at least one game, who knows, we might even enjoy it.
When it's all been decided, if someone wants to knock up up some sort of poster we'll gladly put them up in the pub well beforehand.

Bumped into one of them at the Bristol Rovers away game..seemed alright for a German.Even went to the match with the Pools scarf I gave him.

So whats chance of seeing this at the Vic pretty soon? sctatchinghead :uhoh:

Myself and Shamrock (from the Into The Blue board) have been to a VERY positive meeting at Pools this morning about this.

Really good stuff with Russ, Mark, Sarah and Maurice the Safety Officer.

Looks like it's going ahead!

Watch out for an official announcement later on, but in principle it's been agreed that Season Ticket Holders can use their ticket to get into the Singing Section, which will be the Mill House/Rink End Coner (Seats AND Terrace!) for the forthcoming game against Walsall (Sat 26 Sept)

Watch this space.... clappp

So is it just a trial basis and then see how it works?

It's a shame the next game is Walsall and not someone a bit closer who'd bring a few fans to add a bit of 'spice'

Walsall will bring 200 tops. From a Safety point of view, yes, it'll be a trial.

It's success will depend on our supporters.

Nobodys trying any rocket science here, it's just a way of getting a bit (hopefully a LOT) more of an atmosphere going at The Vic, similar to what we have at Away games.

There are loads of Younger Pools fans who won't even remember what it's like to have songs being sung at a Home match, hopefully us older ones will be able to lead them in the right direction and it just may continue into the future. Obviously I'll be up for the usual personal slagging (it's already started on the ITB board...) from the usual suspects but I just felt the atmosphere has died so much lately that it was worth a shot. Shamrock feels the same.

What a pity its a 53 yr old and a 44 yr old trying to do something about it.

Anyway, it's looking very likely now so let's keep the build-up positive and up-the-top!

Indeed, didn't realise MOD was 44 though. Must have had a tough paper round.

Who is giving you grief over this?

Like you or not phil, this is a positive step to try and help improve the atmosphere at pools, how anyone can have a dig over this i do not know.

Is there going to be an announcement on the pools website about using the season tickets to get into other ends of the ground? Also is this definately going to be in the Cyril Knowles stand towards the rink end along with the town end boys who will be up for moving.

Ment the Millhouse.

The club have embraced the idea and all parts of the ground were talked about as the trial singing section individuals were mentioned Poolieinaustinstad was one to get his sons and mates over to the Millhouse terrace/ seats against Walsall to see if we can create some noise.
Ducker and the town end lads were also mentioned also as they will be needed to push this on.
As elvisc has said it will be in the mail. pools official site. radio and message boards lets make it work its a one off lets build on it.
No doubt there will be people saying I'm not going over there it should be were i stand but i was prepared to go anywhere in the ground to help do my bit so its up to us to give it a try and maybe just maybe this could lead to getting the rink end back.
There was only one negative response on the intotheblue board but it was expected to get one or two people poo poo the idea.
But its all positive for me bring it on and Shamrock off the intotheblue board has offered a prize to the best singer.
