I know a lot of people find it fun to poke fun at them but there seems to be more posts about the loids plight than there are about Pools these days?

Surely its like flogging a dead horse?

As sad as it is, I dont even class darlo as major rivals anymore and while a few years ago I would have always kept an eye out for their results and took great pleasure from a darlo defeat, I just pay them minimal attention nowadays.

We dont have a great abundance of Loids on here so are we not wasting our energy creating/reading such threads? I know they deserve it for the way they kicked their creditors in the nuts but surely we are going too far now sctatchinghead

The poor buggers

The problem is - we won 3-0 away from home and everyone is looking forward to our next game, there is nothing to say about Pools apart from job well done...

Darlo's site makes interesting reading, roll on next saturday.....

They seem quite willing to tear themselves apart - Todd has to go after 6 games (which with the logic they are using will mean if the next guy gets one point after his first six games, he'll have to go) and they seem to be under the impression that they should be challenging for the play-offs this year.

I think I'll just watch them implode from a distance...

LOL, its terrible that we dont bother talking about Pools unless we are moaning! Surely we could focus on how well we have been doing (away from home anyway!)

I concur fully.

Threads about Man U etc get locked so I dont see why ones about Darlo dont.

Not that im comparing Darlo to Man U

No, no, you misunderstand. The Sunderland thread was locked when an upstart tried to tell us how to administrate the board. It wasn't the subject matter that was the problem.

Exactly Mr Mutley, 100% spot on.

Maybe the people who get most wound about anti-darlow stuff on here are quarter-wits at best?

I think 99 per cent of people on here want to laugh at Darlo but there were loads of threads on here last night all saying the same thing which is what started the problem....

EXACTLY! Having a thread about them is fine, but a few people had made about ten different threads on the first page all about the loids. It made the board very reminiscent of Rivals

I've noticed from some people on here what can best be described as an obsession with Darlo and it doesn't show those people in a good light.

It seems Darlo's failures makes them happier than Pools success and that shouldn't be.

People are bound to comment when Darlo lose they are our rivals, what I find more annoying than stuff on message boards are Darlo related chants at games.

'Stand up if you hate Darlo' is quite frankly embarrassing what purpose does it serve? Is it backing our lads? Will they get a lift from hearing it? Or is it to wind up stewards? Which is even more pathetic than signing it in the first place, these people are only doing a an honest job alright it's not for much money but that gives people no right to belittle them.

Are you at the game to sing about darlo, wind up stewards, or to actually support Pools?

If it makes you feel better we still sing "get your father's gun, shoot the poolie scum" at least once a game  well not me personally I might add

I basicly aggree with what you say DL5 except the bit where you say that Downlow are our rivals. They are not our rivals apart from one dreadfull season (Though not the results) they have NOT been our rivals for quite a while.
Apart from the aforementioned (I love that word) season they have not been in the same league as Pools for quite a while, on or off the field.
Personally I take no pleasure in the meltdown of another football club. No matter who it it is.
Why should I?
They have done nothing to me personally except beat us at football a few times, and although it did not go down very well with me at the time, I got over it, and it never left any lasting scars.
On the other hand I did take pleasure in the times when we beat them. Though not to the extent that I wished it to leave everlasting scars on their supporters.
