Billy Liar, watched last night, great stuff
Saturday Night, Sunday Morning
1984
Soylent Green
A Kind of Loving
Duel

A bit of sixties/seventies feel, but so good so far!

I've got the planet of the apes box set (not the crap remake mind you!)

Logans Run & Martian Chronicles are next on my list

The five or six DVD's I am now in the process of watching only set me back about £20 from Amazon

"Two Minute Warning" is a 1975 film....still good. A deranged sniper at an American football game , it's a bit like "Duel" as you don't know who the sniper actually is....try Amazon.com .

The Hill is brilliant. Sean Connery's best film IMHO.

Great film. I got that on dvd too. I wish they did an alternate version where Dennis Weaver upon entering the diner (where all the gadgies stare at him) decides to do a "Ray Winstone" and shoves one of the pool balls in a sock and clobbers shiit out of them all.

Not sure if anyone else has had similar thoughts like :uhoh:

Is Duel the one where he chases him in a truck and then using rope ties his girlfriend to the back of a car and a truck and snaps her in two by accelerating?

No you are thinking of the Hitcher with Rutger Hauer (thats also a quality film like!). The remake was not as good mind you (Sean Bean played the hitcher in the remake)
