I was sent the Hartlepool Mail report of the Gills game and my eye wandered towards a story immediately on the front page...

http://www.peterleemail.co.uk/newsold/Teacher-Eddy39s-on-the-Eurovision.5581093.jp

He might find it very tough in the early stages, but if he manages to get anywhere, then as a Poolie, he'll have my full support and best wishes.

He also says in the article that he has always had an ambition to meet Cliff Richard - at which point I stopped reading... bbolt

My uncle who sent the Mail down only sent down the pages with the Gills report in. Page 3 with this report was missing.

It was on the front page of the Hartlepool Mail, but I couldn't see the story on the Hartlepool Mail's website so i had to find it on the Peterlee Mail's website.

I hope Mutley doesn't see this thread, i believe one of his pet hates is the amount of 'yakker' stories that appear in the mail.

It might have been in the Peterlee Mail, but he's from Dalton Piercy originally apparantly.

You see that's the thing, if he manages to get anywhere, will he be considered a 'Poolie and be supported, or a Yakker, and ignored?

Even though he intends to represent Norway, instead of the United Kingdom?

Not that I don't have any problem with that - but if the UK should win, then I'll be over the moon.

If he should win representing Norway, I'll also be over the moon.

I actually learnt myself that I have a distant Norweigan cousin, as well as links to a Danish family in Copenhagen. I not only keep an interest in Denmark, but in Germany as well, because I had two actual Germans as teachers in secondary school as well, and also France.

I swear Hartlepool is becoming more international...what with the two Norweigans we signed and the Icelander that's just arrived.
