A first trip to the Vic for the ex Premier stars from Sarf London and three deserved points went back with them. Overall I thought Pools were beaten by a side superior in most departments and certainly in midfield. For what it's worth here's my view of our efforts:
Flinders handled well but failed to come for the cross for the second goal.
Haslam, looks a decent footballer but part of the comedy of errors for the first goal
Collins, was rumoured to have improved.....not on yesterdays evidence
Liddle, had a sound game probably our best player
Hartley, absolutely tortured by the right winger Sam, mind you so will a lot of other League one full backs be.
McSweeney, looked useful although missed a couple of chances
Sweeney, a poor game from Tony against a good quality midfield
Frederickson, looked totally lost little or no influence, let's hope Jones returns on Tuesday
Monkhouse, frustrating up and down afternoon, good goal line clearance
Boyd, typical Adam got no service and obviously felt it was beneath him to go looking for the ball!
Behan, vying with Liddle for man of the match a real battling centre forward is he Anth Lormor or R Barker in disguise?
Overall not too disappointed as there won't be many better sides than Charlton at the Vic this season

I think he has a lot more promise than Barker or Lormor.

I was surprised to hear a few people say the same thing at the game. Any keeper would have struggled to cut that cross out.

I wasn't saying he should have cut it out but he never even went for it.
