Apologies for the self-promotion, but I'd expect most of you would be interested.

I've completely overhauled POOLstats, and the new version is up and ready to look at. It should be quicker to load and easier to read. All of the existing data has been checked and a lot of new information about players and teams have been added. I can't promise that it's any more interesting than the old version but there's plenty on there to keep you out of mischief!

If you have never visited then now would be a pretty good time to make your debut, if you're a veteran then you'll see that there's more than ever on there. Either way it's easy to use and should while away the hours till the season kicks off!!

Have a look around and let me know what you think. Cheers.

exactly what I was going to say why make a product that is a copy of something that already does a good job, its like saying oh here is a another book similar to the guiness book of records, noone is going to look at it as guiness was there before and established same goes for the mad crowd.

Ok then I take that back and apologise, I am big enough to know when I am wrong.

I just want to say I was never putting down this bloke work as I said fair play to him, probably my reaction shows that he needs to advertise his website a bit more.

And John you big copy cat you must be a bounder of the highest order.

The Club Info page could do with updating - Ian Butterfield, Tommy Miller & Paul Stephenson are still listed as being at the club, and Lord Tom Burlison died just over a year ago.

Blimey not quite the reaction I was expecting!

I did advertise heavily around the launch and during the first couple of years, but sine 2005/6 the site has really taken a back seat and the only infrequent updates were individual matches new players. I've finally found the time to completely redo it, making it a lot easier to update so hopefully I can keep on top of it.

I understand your original point Compo, if it was a new site I'd be barking to put it up when ITMC is there, but as has been mentioned, John is a bounder and clearly stole my idea!

As John has said, and as we have both discussed before, the two sites look at the data from a different angle and the both have bits that the other doesn't.

West Park - thanks for the spot, that'll teach me for not checking the static data!

both are uber geeks with nowt better to do with their lives, who probably had no friends at school and who really should get out more.

i'd shoot both of them in the face from close range and dump their bodies in a skip bearing the livery " dead stattos " assuming i could be arsed.

[x] proper diss.

Fair point Mr Fireball, but who will record the names and numbers of the skip dwellers. Will someone please think of the stattos!!

Stattos - recording the world minutiae, so the rest of the world can lead normal lives.
