According to the News of the World today, Carlisle's "one to watch" this season. So either Turner's dropped a clanger or Carlisle are in for a pretty lean season. Apparently we also need to be on our guard on Saturday against the predatory instincts of Jermaine Easter.

I hope they're right, I'd love to see the lad do well.

He's got the skill and on his day is as good as any left winger in the division and quite a few of the division above. He is a confidence player however so the minute any of their fans get on his back will be the minute he stops performing. I hope it doesn't happen.

We've kept a lot worse players this close season. Good luck Matty.

I concur, if he could just show some consistency he would be an asset. Unfortunately he had plenty of chances with us and never managed it.

Oh do give over.

He will flatter to decieve like he did in his 3,496 appearances for pools over the past 324 years, and he is still an up and coming youngster.

He will probably torure us, and then be shite for the rest of the season. He will do what Matty Robson always does. A leopard cant change its spots.

If Robson was still here and looking like he was gonna be in the first 11, 99% of the bunker would be suicidal, and not the 75% that currently is.

I would put Carilisle down as relegation favourites if he is really their one to watch.

There's an perfect example of why the lad struggled at times. ADG and his ilk will forgive the likes of Humphreys anything because he's is 'Sir Ritchie' and 'we luv 'im gawd bless'im' despite the fact that he has been shite for two years. However should Robson make a mistake and he becomes the devil incarnate.

Errrrrrr...................try the words Andy Monkhouse.

And I never booed or blamed Robson....ever. Only you have brought up Ritchie Humphreys again. As you always do. Slight obsession there mate? therethere

Not an obsession, simply an observation based on two left sided players and your reactions to them.

So not rating Matty Robson, who by the way, the vast majority of poolies dont, means I am bigging up Humphreys? rolfl

I think its easier just to leave it at that and let our readers make up their own minds about who is obsessing about Humphreys.

Now lets compare Robson to Monkhouse, shall we?

Matty Robson's problem was that he was as reliable as the gearbox on a 70's Skoda, It meant well and tried really hard, but you could never rely on it.

Well as a starter for 10 you can pretty much guarantee effort from Robson every time he steps on the pitch.

PS. Good luck Matty, I do wish you were still here but I hope that you have a shyte one against us.

And there you have it, neatly summed up in one post. Matty Robson cant be faulted for his effort.

Are you Martin Scott?

I think the reason people forgive Ritchie is because recent managers have insisted on playing him at left back. He is not a left back but willingly played there even though his performances there were not good enough. Everybody and his dog knows that, except for the team selectors. Our basic refusal to recruit a left back is the reason for Ritchie's recent performances.
I like Matty and wish the lad well. He too was played out of position at left back and was also slated, so well done to both of them for answering the call when needed.
Matty was actually offered a contract but decided his future lay elsewhere.

You just KNOW that Matty will have a screamer against us dont you! I may shove a few quid on him as first goalscorer (and then he can go and score a couple of own goals  )

There was a period last season where i thought that Matty had "cracked it", but that form deserted him and he went back to being an ineffectual trier. Wish the lad well, and he well have a belting game against us no doubt. But i think it was smart business from Turner to offer him a peanuts contract. Monky will always play if fit and it looks like friedriekson shows promise as cover and can play centre mid as well.
