ask him why is he letting one of our best midfielders slip through his fingers due to not picking him

Perhaps we should ask why the midfielder in question isn't prepared to fight for a place and show how good he supposedly is?

Turner's hardly forcing him out!

On the basis that we need a player like him in midfield he should have played 75% of our pre season to fit the midfield around him. Who else have we got in that role no one, we have compertition in all other areas of the midfield and attack that arnt important, you need a link from the defence to midfield and someone to stay there allowing our other "gifted" attacking player licence to play.

Fredriksen is 10 times better than Jones in the holding midfield role.

I'd go so far to say he's 10 times better in any midfield role.

If Jones has spat his dummy over missing a couple of preseason games and us improving the squad then he doesn't deserve a place in our club. We run on teamwork not expectation.

I totally agree. If Jones is throwing his toys out his pram for not being picked for pre season games then i think we should let him leave as we need players with more fight and a lot more spirit than that. Frederickson is doing a great job so far in the games he has played so if jones wants to go, then let him go!!

We only want players that are willing to fight for the cause!

My opinion versus yours. We've put them forward and we disagree.

For that reason, I'm out.

Jones was one of the better players in a bad season. So why hasn't he been given more of a chance in pre-season games so far? Plenty of players who did worse than him last season have had more games time so far.

Jones is the best midfielder at the club why tubby doesnt think so is beyond me, although his opinions and sound bites refairing to ALB should have got him an england call up

that looks to me like a statement of fact rather than an opinion.

in any event playing central midfield against york city for an hour in a friendly probs a lot easier than playing league one week in and week out.

i sincerely hope Fredriksen is everything you say he is and more, but id like to judge him once he has played some proper football against some proper teams.

You're arguing against someone who simply doesn't care what you think. Leave it be. Listen to the lovely Deborah.

I thought Jones had a decent season last year - easilly our best player in the centre of midfield ......

I will tune into ali brownlee for once because it should be a good listen tonight......

our strongest midfield for the first game (assuming brown wont start due to fitness) would be

monkhouse Jones Sweeney (or Fredriksen) McSweeney

I wouldn't get too excited about Freddie's performance at York ( I too was there). He tried to play too many spectacular balls rather than the simple one for my liking. He is miles in front of anyone else in match fitness, which coupled with the opposition made him catch the eye, but only for about twenty minutes, then he faded just like the rest of them.
Performances by individuals or teams in pre season friendlies are not indicative of what to expect in the league. Like others have said we'll see how he fares in real games.
Freddie looked like what he is, a winger playing inside. I prefer a pass and move type. I don't think he is the answer to central midfield but I am not the manager.

I recall last year a few people on here raving about Power being great for us based on a few pre season games.
For what its worth i thought Fredrikson had a very good first ten minutes against Sheff Wed then became a bit of a headless chicken. Didnt see him at York so cant say how he did. We should be doing all we can to keep Jones, he is a up and coming player who showed alot of promise last season.

jones is a very poor player and would be no lose at all. his work rate is poor in tracking back and doesn't tackle. if he was to leave us i would be surprised as i think no-one would want him. but in the lads defence why give him and others contracts then bring in new players in there positions. but thats the club at the minute and of last season

Turner might have had a good reason not to play him, it doesnt necessarily have to be football related.

Maybe (and this is in no way meant to suggest he does) Turner found out Jones likes a couple of grams of Charlie on a Saturday night, or came into training pissed or something.

WE DO NOT KNOW!!!!!!

Chips theory sounds the most realistic so far though
