A mate of mine wanted me to be in charge of his funeral arrangements, mainly to make sure his hair was done right, totally redundant requirement now as he is bald. rolfl

His tune of choice at the moment of departure, Freebird

'Rambling's going to be the death of me' ..Bert Jansch.

(I've not heard of that Herb Alpert song for 30 years, and now it's come up twice in a week...was in the pub quiz at the Nursery.)

Seriously the first 30 seconds of this video make me piss myself. Also read the first few pages of comments rolfl rolfl rolfl ...

"Cliff Fact #12895.2: Cliff's image has been used on eighteen different brands of tampon, a fact which he would rather have kept under wraps, "My reputation would be in tatters if people knew I'd actually been inside a woman" he said, and smiled knowingly."

I've told the missus she can do what she likes, presuming I go first, providing Jerusalem and Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life are played.

I would have gone with the Chariots Of Fire theme, but a very good friend of mine in running had it played at his funeral, there wasn't a dry eye in the house.

Being sort of in the business (as in next week I'm officiating at a couple) you do wonder sometimes if people have actually thought about what they want. One of them had left instructions that they want Englebert Humperdinck's "Please Release Me". This is not a joke. Nor is the one that worked well but could have been taken a completely different way - "Wish you were here" by Pink Floyd....

Mine's going to be 'There She Goes' by The La's, simply the best pop song ever written and strangely appropriate seeing as I'll get fried in drag.

I worked in the funeral business for 10 years & the song that amused me most was when someone said they wanted 'The song off The Bodyguard' (I will always love you by Whitney Houston) the funeral director said he knew the song & would arrange it for them.
On the day the family arrived at the crematorium & walked in to hear this

I would too, if it's that screaming woman song they really wanted. I would say ,"no - you can't have it or else I'm out of here"

I think 'Blue Room' by the Orb would be appropriate for people who like to draw things out - it last for 39 minutes and 58 seconds.
