Believe it or not, this is KH's deliberate policy. He, stupidly, believes that bringing out a new strip on the eve of the first game increases sales due to the natural excitement.

This is infact, FACT.

He is blissfully ignorant of the fans wishes on this, and completely ignores the wishes of those in the club shop who are asked this question every day, and know they would have sold a couple of thousand by now.

If he actually thinks thats the case, why does he believe ever other club does so well be doing a big press release of the strip in mid june, then releasing the kit july 1st?

Some teams even play the last game of the season in there new kit, the teams who plan ahead.

Like we did under a decent businessman like Harold Hornsey you mean! Unfortunately all that ended when Ken took over.

Releasing a strip early is obviously going to generate more sales by the very nature of the fact that the strip is on sale for a longer period. Also a large number of fans birthdays will fall within the summer (like mine) and had the new strip been out then Im sure Mrs Grave would have bought me one. As it is, im unlikely to waste another £40 once the season kicks off as the season ticket has already cost enough.

If delaying a new strip was a financially astute thing to do then im sure the rich clubs like Manu U and Chelsea would do the same.

How many people go away on holiday between the end of May and the beginning of August, i am sure a fair few of those would like the new shirt to wear on holiday and then send in a photo of them in it to the Pools fans abroad section on the official site

I am not one to knock KH usually but I have always thought it was a crazy strategy.
