Been browsing around looking for a new tent & found a good one on Tesco Direct.
2 bedroom, one living room job, half price(£85 down to £42.50) but it is out of stock.I went into the Hartlepool shop & they have it on the shelf, but the half price offer is only available online & the store cant do that deal.
"Can I order online & pick it up in store" I asks
"Yes" they says
"Righty ho,can I order that tent & pick it up at Hartlepool" says me
"No,its out of stock" says Tesco
"But its in stck at the store Im collecting it from" says me
"But its not in the online warehouse so we cant sell it to you"

Hi There
I wonder if you can help me.
I have been browsing Tesco Direct & am interested in the Tesco 6 vis a vis tent (Catalogue number: 200-1706) which is advertised as a half price offer (£85 down to £42.50),but appears to be constantly out of stock.
http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.200-1706.aspx
This item is in stock at my local Tesco (Hartlepool) but is not available for the £42.50 online price in store & apparently I cant make an online order & then collect one of those that the store have.
Can you please tell me is this a genuine offer or is the advertisement purely cosmetic with no intention to actually sell this item at that price ?

Thank You,I look forward to your reply

They respond by answering a totally diferent question to the one I asked

Dear Tony

Thank you for your email.

I'm sorry to hear that you're unhappy with some of the prices we charge on Tesco Direct.

Many of the products Tesco Direct sells online can also be found in your local Tesco store but prices can vary. This is due to various factors, such as when we run a special Tesco Direct offer or an in-store promotion.

We also aim to make our prices less than, or at least equal to the other main online retailers. Our Tesco Direct Team constantly checks prices so that we can match or reduce ours accordingly. However, it isn’t our policy to offer a price-match on any item to individual customers

I hope this will have explained our pricing policies and thank you for taking the time to share your comments with us.

If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us at tescodirect@tesco.co.uk quoting TES6563349X.

Kind Regards

Im still awaiting a response to my next email

Hello Jayashree
Thank you for your prompt reply to my query
Unfortunately your reply has completely missed the point of my enquiry,I am
not unhappy at prices charged on Tesco Direct,I am questioning the validity
of your offers as the item Im interested in appears to be constantly out of
stock.
Again my question is simply do you have any intention of selling the item at
the advertised price or is it simply a cosmetic advert for an item that is
unavailable.

The item in question - http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.200-1706.aspx

Yours

IfI were you Mr Crimes I would simply erase the word 'Tesco' from my memory and resolve never ever to patronise them again.
