VERY entertaining night, had some great insight to the difficulties in various aspects of running the club from Turner & Green.

Main points from what i can remember (blame the booze)

Rose has had his medical, everything is done....apart from the Administrators green-lighting the deal

The Dimi deal was dead in the water, however something has happened this week which may ressurect it (didn't say what)

there are 2 foreigners that are close to signing who will "significantly improve the quality in the squad"

said he was in the dark about the managers job, IOR have said get some players in, but have not confirmed to him the managers situation. When asked if he would take it if offered, he said there were reasons to say yes and reasons to say no...

some one asked why some players had been offered a contract when they probably aren't good enough.....Turners response "What you mean Robson? He was offered a contract, but didn't sign it, what does that suggest to you?" a la we offered him a crap contract.

When asked about McKay he was very very excited basically saying he has a masterplan (convert him to a keeper?) and that McKay is better than Novak who signed for Huddersfield from Gateshead for £200,000. Said that there was a league 2 club and 2 conference clubs who want him on a years loan however he has a plan which will make him a vital member of the squad?????

Ground sale talks are still ongoing

Turner said that we would see an improvement in Sam Collins as he is right-footed playing on the left, but now we have Hartley he can move over to a more comfortable position. also Ben Clark WILL be a centre back next season

When asked about a captain, Turner said he has someone lined up who, if they join, would be a VERY good captain, also said Ben Clark as he is very well respected but he hadn't decided that yet.

Turner said that Nelson HAD NOT been given any sort of time extension, but he said he understands Nelsons delaying over signing as this would be his last chance to play for 'bigger' club

Turner said that Huddersfield are offering people ridiculously large wages and trying to sign everyone that moves, indicating how difficult next season will be, however he would expect Pools to at least be fighing for a playoff place.

Said the squad were bereft of confidence and that with the new players brough in that would be solved.

If i think of anything else i will post more on this thread. I'm very excited about these 2 foreigners he mentioned.....

I can never understand why people get so excited when the word 'foreigner' is mentioned in the rumour of new players. As if every 'foreigner' is exciting.

Thanks for the report, Mr b, sounds interesting, and positive, if you think of any more info please post it.
Did Boydy have anything to say?

well if you took a bit of care reading what was wrote, then you will see its not because they are foreigners but because they will "significantly improve the quality of the squad".

It was a good night and the honesty was refreshing to hear.

Vey excited about the next season and if those coming are as good as mentioned last night then BRING IT ON.

We are moving forward once again and hopefully the missing fans will be back.

Looking forward to the next one BUT(there is always a but) please take on board that some comments are to be viewed as concerns from the fans and not always for negative reasons.

Good mixture of questions and some great answers.

Well done for another good night. clappp

Did Boydy have anything to say?

looked a bit like a startled rabbit in headlights. Basically the same sort of stuff thats in the papers. He is glad to be back, wants to finish his career here, thinks him and brown will do well together, he is more mature and more of a team player. Er thats all i can remember.

Absolutley first class effort by all involved on that stage last night.

No hiding,no crap ,just straight to the point and totally refreshing.

You could see it was not scripted ,no bits of paper or prepared questions from any of them. They simply picked up their microphones and ran with whatever was fired at the stage,it was as simple as that..but really well handled.

We came away in a really 'positive' frame of mind and cant wait for the season to begin..again WELL DONE HUFC.. a SUPERB effort.. and a HUGE step forward!

Rose and Austin signing would be excellent news and mean the fullback problem is sorted at last.

We just need to get a first choice GK signed then we have the first 11 pretty much finalised.

Not bad for early June, well done so far Mr Turner clappp

Presumably the Austin you all mention is Neil Austin from Darlo? I know he is a defender but is he a full back or centre half, and what side does he play on? Whats more - is he good enough to make the step up?

is it me who finds it slightly worrying that turner doesnt even know if he will be manager or not?

This should have been sorted by now surely.

Well done for the report mr b, sounds like a good night, credit to turner for doing it.

to be honest turner himself agreed when someone else said the same thing. He said he liked his role as director of sport however the chairman hasnt even spoke to him about it. I get the impression that something is going on in the background and turner doesnt know how it will pan out. I fully expect him to be manager, as far as he is aware he is manager until he is told otherwise. Its up to uncle ken..

Course he'd love the director of sport role, it's cushy as fuck, few days a week, no pressure, no blame if things go tits up, it's a role most clubs don't even feel they need.

I'd love that role!

I hope he does get the managers job 'cos i think it's too late for another one.

And to think how depressing this board was to read 12 months ago.

No activity ..Wilson giving us no hope..and many posters dreading our Centenary season.

What a contrast last night though ..lots to look forward to in the coming season.. both on and off the pitch.

I am still amazed that they did well over two hours on stage without a break ..it seemed to fly by.

CT was excellent and RG went right up in my estimation..he showed his desire to make progress and more importantly learn from the seasons mistakes. His recent efforts off the pitch with nights like last night have been faultless.

There was a really good feeling about the night and it ended with some cracking 'feel good' banter on stage. Lets hope this can now move the club forward in every way possible.

Bring it on!

I didnt make it last night but the evening seemed to be a real success and a lot of credit must go to Turner and Green for sitting there and taking all the questions in and giving answers to them all and for me certainly, both of them have gained a lot more of my respect after what has been done since the season has ended.

Things finally look to be going forward at the club instead of halting or going backwards. Lets hope we seal the Austin and Rose signings along with a goalkeeper and maybe one or 2 more sigings (foreigners) and i will be very happy with this summers activity.

Lets hope we can pull these off and get the squad sorted as soon as possible so they can gel in pre season.

the obvious thing that emanated from it all was the passion that turner and russ green have to try and take the club forward. I honestly feel like a new dawn is about to break for this football club

Question of the night goes to the young lady who ask Boyd, if he wanted his son to follow him as a footballer. The reply was he's only 3 month old but I hope so.

there is ALWAYS someone who has to make some sort of irrelevant and aggravated point, even the people he will have been sat with won't have understood it, and will have been suitably embarrassed by such embarrassing rarf-like shenanigans of irrelevance.

What was the point he was trying to make then? Or was it just rarfishness of the first order due in no large part to the sensible pricing of the liquid refreshment?

i think he was trying to say that we, the fans, are the most important thing at the club so dont forget it. But it came out like a threat lol. There was also some bloke trying to argue with them about increasing the size of the rink end. Green said not unless we buy the ground. The bloke wasnt having any of it. Green ended up agreeing with him just to shut him up

The world is full of opinions, at least it shows they care and have some passion. There has been more excitement and anticipation in the last few weeks than all of last season (and most of the previous). FACT

As to the word on the street there has been no mention of any, suggesting that the scurrilous rumour mongers haven't made anything up this week, given that this Boyd/Turner talk would have provided a golden opportunity to do so.

Edited to add fact in capitals & word on the street comment

Not only cheap ale they also do a canny meat draw then, a nice side of beef instead of a few sausages and rashers of bacon

All sounds a good night, went down to buy season tickets today and was secretly hoping to bump into a new signing but didn't see any tall black men who had previously been to Throston shops with CT unfortunately.

If one of the newbies is a playmaker that is exactly where I think we are lacking so superb!!!
