If we sign Shola Ola, that will definitely be a cartwheel-and-a-half signing.

As for the ridiculous suggestion that he wouldn't be a good signing from our Sunderland friend Remember the pre season friendly a couple of years ago that we were leading 1-0 (the one were cockfingers announced himself by throwing a tame Ameobi shot into the net) he was a class above us when he came on, we couldn't get the ball off him. He might not cut it at the top level but we don't play at the top level, mind neither do Newcastle or the Boro and Sunderland barely do!

Last summer he was on the verge of signing for either Stoke or Ipswich, for about £4.5million. I very much doubt he would come here.

Two reasons... for a start

1 He'll still get the same wage wether he's here or at Newcastle (Its a loan deal remember)
2 He won't be sitting on the bench week in week out

He'll improve his match fitness and sharpness by playing regular competitive football...

im sure if he were available on loan there would be at least 20 clubs bigger and better than us who would be more interesting to him than us. The only thing we have going for us is that we are local.

Whilst I still have my doubts, good things like this don't happen at Pools, there is some logic if and only IF newcastle want him loaned out to gain more experience/fitness/confidence.

If he is not good enough or consistent enough with Newcastle who could they loan him to?

Presumably if he isn't good enough for Newcastle then he is not good enough for the Premiership, rulling out those teams.

It wouldn't make sense to loan him out to the competition in the Championship as that could have a negative aspect towards Newcastles premiership promotion aspirations by strenghthening the opposition.

That would leave a loan period with League 1 or league 2 clubs, league 2 being less skillfull generally there is an increased risk of injury there, so League 1 it is.

Of all the clubs in league 1 probably us and Carlisle would have the edge, due to location, with uncle kens affinity with Newcastle tipping the balance.

See you can make anything believable if you try hard enough.

Owen and Viduka will be going (lets face they've hardly played for the last two seasons anyway). Ameobi has been a fringe player during this time so why do you think the fact that Viduka and Owen are going he'll automatically be first choice? As for Obi Martins I doubt he will be going anywhere well not for at least a season ..
