"Chairman Lord Mawhinney also wants to explore the possibility of a joint TV deal with the Premier League."

At least the Football League seem to try to change the game for the better, and are not afraid to punish clubs (whether they are any good at it, is another question) - rather than the Premier League who only exist to make money and protect the status quo.

I quite like the transfer window since
1. it stops bigger clubs raiding smaller clubs to cover for under-performance
2. gives smaller clubs the certainty over their playing staff for much of the season
3. gives quite an exciting end of transfer window scramble

What does need addressing is the number of loan signings. Loan signings should largely cover injuries, not shortfalls in performance. How many sides have had their season altered by the likes of Spurs or Manure loaning out some of their youngsters. Yeovil were dead and buried till they got two loanees in from Spurs. The big clubs sweep up too much young talent, very rarely give them first team opportunities and then loan them out to see if they can hack it.

If we want fairer league system (which will never happen given the vested interets of those that have the wealth) then limit squad sizes or have universal wage caps.

season long loan deals are ok. All other loans should be banned.

On saying that, we would probably have gone down without Nardiellos goals. :uhoh:

Even so I do believe they should be banned.

They look like they have spread their resources too thinly - at least they are giving a few young lads a chance I suppose. Reading were woeful in the play-off's though, maybe they could have done with a few of their loan-players in the first team...

Sorry, I'm still not used to the season being ended. When I said last season I meant 2007/08.
For the record i wasn't being picky. That match really did slip under my radar. sctatchinghead

Probably because I was busy mutating from French to UK resident at the time.Image
