I'm gutted about the whole situation. Not just cos there's a bunch of lads the same as us who will be without a football team to support, but knowing that I'll never come out of a football match again, feeling as good as I did after the 2-1 at Feethams or the 3-0 at the Elephant. What a mistake it was for them ever to move out of Feethams... sadx

I'm afraid the days of financial knights in white armour turning up to the rescue are now over ...... even Chester are considering going into administration. Life in the lower divisions is suddenly getting a lot harder... and still we have fantasists on here dealing in Monopoly money.

4-Bus Shelters and 4000 fans is the way forward, a properly-run club owned by a COMPANY, not an individual/egomaniac.

I'm taking no pleasure, but I was right all along.

in reality there needed to be a reality check at Darlo a long time ago, both houghton and reynoulds put money into Darlo and have probably lost a lot of money chasing the Darlo fans dreams of promotion. Personally i think GH is getting a bit of an unfair hard time from the Darlo fans, he has spent money, but his spending wasn't backed up with results and bums on seats.

Dead right Jonny, the people of Darlington want to look a bit closer to home when looking for someone to blame. Even when they were flying at the beginning of the season they were scraping 3,500. Getting a similar amount for the "save our club" day proves the town doesn't care.

You see all the arguments in this thread? You can swap the names Pool and Darlo around and there won't be a ha'porth of difference.
Hating your rivals is supposed to be fun and add spice to your existence, not to be some kind of psycopathic anger relief therapy.

I was listening to a piece on Radio Tees earlier today about Darlo. The reporter mentioned that he went into Darlington Town centre, to get the views of the fans on the latest revelations, and he said he struggled to find anyone to give an opinion on what was happening. I don't think that would be the case in Hartlepool if we were in a similar situation.

No, I'm sure you are right. Once you've fought your way past all the Mancastle Uniterlund supporters I'm sure there are dozens of Poolies just waiting to vent their spleen.

Lots of good points raised on this thread.

We are fooked and you know what, I'm past caring.

It'll be a relief when it is done and dusted. If we get saved we'll only be back at square one three or four years down the line.

Elvis your statement always annoyed me. I just never liked the fact that somebody was pointing something out thinking I hadn't already thought of that myself. Plenty of people have always thought the same.

I honestly couldn't give a fecking fack at the moment, I didn't even go to the fundraiser myself as it seemed completely pointless. I'd already concluded we are dead with or without it.

The sooner they close it the better, honestly. I'm not frightened of watching Unibond football, as long as I have confidence that we for the first time in years have a group of people behind the scenes who are in it for the football and that the club is ran within its means.

We'd rise back to our natural level over the years anyway, but hopefully without the baggage.

It seems quite appealing in fact.

I still think they'll be in the League next season - someone always steps in. I'm in the camp who thinks it's not good for football at all, when lower league clubs bite the dust, rivalry doesn't even come into this

Probably because the 3,000 fans they do have actually work for a living so the people who care about the club were actually at work? I would think it would be the same at the Hartlepool shopping centre too???

Darlo need to start again either way. I have no idea why people take so much pleasure in seeing them sink - Montpoolier is right. If Darlington goes then a part of me as a Pools fan also goes as well.

The stadium did it, both sets of fans know it. Anyone clinging onto the fact that it was a good ground was deluded - Feethams was the best thing for them.

This whole sorry episode was funny, when it happened. But its not anymore.

We all want to see certain clubs go bust. Manure, Chelsea Liverpool Newcastle.

Not football clubs supported by real people, that actually love their club.

But i dont think the loids are finished yet.

Houghton is up to something......its bloody obvious innit?

The man is sat watching everything fall apart, whilst he still owns everything apart from the football side.

What happens if the club fold.......whats he gonna do with the land etc?

It would cost him a fortune to demolish the ground......thats even if he got planning permission to do it.

I doubt the bloke is actually that rich that he could afford to demolish it, and build on it.

And if the council dont support whatever plans he has, he will get nowt.

I suspect he needs the club to survive, to cash in on everything else he owens round there.

He may well run it on a shoe string..........and do what he is intending with the rest of the land, and THEN dump the club.

What Raj Singh should have done was buy th club, but contact the league first.....tell them of the plight, and move the football club miles away from THAT stadium.....even ground share with York City, or any fooker.

Darlo FC ould have survived, homeless, until a new ground could be built, or an existing site be developed.

Houghton would be left with the white elephant, and no cash. And we could have all laughed......the loids and us. And anyone else that really loves football.

it has been said already there but for the grace of god [IOR] go I
I remember some of us pools fans putting a few sheckels in the buckets for YORK not so long ago and they have survived
lower league football is on a down ward spiral simply because of the greedy prawn munchers of the prem etc
parachute payments in millions are handed out if they are unsuccessful and and a £50.000 hand out to the likes of Pools/Darlo etc from a pot of £175 billion
but the football league sit on their thumbs in case the prem close the shop and don't let their reserve teams enter the cup competition
time for a revolution rolf

Good on you, Mr Quakerz. If more real football fans had your philosophy we might even get a grass-roots movement going, and meander past the premiership altogether.

A large proportion of people don't work 9 to 5. Surely some of their 'fans' would have been out and about when the reporter was looking for interviewees.

If Singh does end up saving them will it be part of the deal to have a shop on every corner of the ground?

But the prospect of a corner shop, a launderette, a takeaway and a 24 hour garage on the four corners of the ground will have him dribbling greasybrownspunk into his tramlines.
