He's turned us down to join Hartlepool. Don't know whether you've offered him better money or what. I assume that's the reason because he seemed to like it here.

Disappointing from our point of view but oh well...

Now, that could quite possibly be a good signing.

Although, we're going to have a lot of strikers aen't we with Boyd coming back if that's the case. sctatchinghead

If this is the case then i will be very happy with this signing. Got premier league experience and knows where the goal is.

Lange is getting monitered so we dont know if he will be fit enough,

Who said anything about us getting Nardiello permanantly? only us thinking we are going to sign him?

Mackay will only be re-signed because he will be on next to nothing and can be used as a back up

So that leaves us with Boyd and Brown, so Bridges could well be a very good signing.

Only made 12 starts this season and when you look at our other main forwards - Boyd, Brown and possibly Lange - they are all prone to injury as well.

I thought we were trying to move away from being a club that signs crocks and has-beens?

I definitely don't want him to sign. Players with history of poor injury records have come back to haunt us the last couple of years.

Would Gabbiadini fall into that list too?

I agree though. But I think to an extent he was worth the risk, He was excellent for us when fit. Lange looked good too, But its very, very hard to judge on those brief performances.

Boyd and Bridges up front doesn't sound bad to me.

If i had a choice of bridges or nardiello then I would probably sooner go for nardiello. Getting both would be a bonus!

If you applied that logic, we'd be sending Brown on his way too.

The same point was made to me on Saturday when I stated a similar logic to keeping Lange.

Boland has averaged 20 games a season in his career (a very similar figure to his career at Pools) and I'm guessing that the reason for missing the other 30 odds every season is because of injury rather than lack of ability. He'll be 34 when the season starts and at that age the chance of injury is obviously even greater than usual. Even when he was getting a game the season before last he was quite often only on the pitch for an hour. Statistically speaking the amount of use we'll probably get out of Boland if he stays next season is fck all, he'll also be on a generous wage and I don't even rate him that highly after his performances in League 1 the season before last.

We need to be careful where we use our limited resources and with Boland I think there is a very high chance of injury where I don't with Brownie, his have been more down to bad luck and a bad tackle in Scotland.

I'd like to see Lange on some kind of deal till Xmas (with an option to extend if possible), hopefully that'll cover our back if he starts firing them in but the option to get rid if he remains crocked.
