I've been informed that Verrils Fish Shop has changed hands.

I've been boasting about the quality of Hartlepool fish and chips and have organised a trip to reveal to some people of the North West how good they are.

Then I find out Verrils has changed hands.

If you had visitors, just where in Hartlepool would you take them for the best, most honest fish'n'chips.

Fens Chips shop where the Fish have all be on Steroids i think due to the size of the things...... :laugh:

it's been run by frankie gaiety for the last 10-15 years easily and is still run by him now

I think thats favourite if it's the one I remember that was run by the HUFC alltime great Kenny Johnson and his wife Olly.

Very true best one in town, the sea front has some of the worst. Hasnt that little old women been in the fens shops for years I remember ging there for school dinners and she was there then

The fens one and one opposite where Brus Arms used to be give whale sized portions and were both really good the last few times I went to either.

That's my fault then, for misleading Mr Frod. Last time I went to Verrill's, the place had been painted and done out. In addition the fish and chips were all soggy and horrible, so I assumed the shop had changed hands. :uhoh:

i've been to Verrills today. It was elish and there was more than I could eat. No Dandilion and Burdock though sadx

just got a half lot from the warren there always mint :grin:

bradleys used to be mint too but havent been there for ages cant be arsed going all that way for them confised
