I honestly thought we were down. I didnt believe even we could have been so unprofessional to allow that distinct possiblity to happen.

If Northampton had got the equaliser in the Leeds game, instead of Leeds getting the second, I am pretty sure Carlisle would hae gone hell for leather to get a third.

How unprofessional are our players. I wonder if most of them already knew they were being released. I question the commitment yesterday of them. Not all of them.

I wonder if any of them actually took to the pitch not giving a fook? Thats what it seemed like.

It takes a lot, to nearly give the advantage we had away. A HELLUVA LOT.

Arguably the most unprofessional squad of players we have ever had. Not even in our darkest dimmest past did we have players that crumbled that easily. Did we?

Thank fook this sorry season is over.

I thought we were gone too, felt sick to my stomach.

At the final whistle relief obviously, but so much more angry!!!

Now that the season's over, the abuse the players are getting is thoroughly deserved.

Personally, I think we need a new manager first and foremost.
Then a new scouting system.
Then some decent players.

So at 4-1 down and 40 minutes still to play you honestly didn't feel any anxiety?

Nah, he was a whopping and a hollering

I mean four goals conceded in a ten minute spell against a team full of peg selling inbreds when the 'Pools players quite clearly knew the importance of not letting loads of goals in isn't a worry, is it?

But Pools did make a good fist of it though, didn't they

FFS chip , they are professional footballers.
Even if we had already been relegated you would expect them to turn in a decent performance,
surely you would expect a modicum of pride in their job to drive them on.

I can forgive them a lot and accept that some of our problems are down to poor management,
but I expect that when they pull that shirt on, whatever position they have been selected in,
that they go out and give it their all.
There have been too many games this season when that has not happened, seems like yesterday
was another one.

Clear out required , top down.

jesus wept.

i am not defending the performance, i am not defending the players, where in my post do i say that ??????

im pointing out the sheer stupidity of a bloke stating, if northampton had equalised, and if brighton hadnt scored, and we hadnt scored, and carlisle had scored some more, then we would have gone down.

its like stating, if we had won all our games then we would have gone up.

we won the games we had to against yeovil and hereford and avoided defeat against crewe.

we were never at any point in the relagation zone this season, and matches dont end at 20 past 4. and no i was never even remotely worried that we were going to go down yesterday. as i stated months ago, 50 points was enough. at 20 past 4 i was down the beach with the dog and football was the last thing on my mind.

But our match finished at three minutes past three yesterday

I'm looking at the bigger picture, we should never have been in that position.

There is (was) enough ability in that squad to have been in a far more comfortable league position,
so the if, buts and maybe's of yesterday would never have been.

We obviously aren't getting a new manager, so lets hope Turner/West have learnt enough to inject some
passion and pride into next seasons squad. (and give Rowell an extended run)

im sorry but there clearly ISNT enough ability in that squad to have finished mid table or higher this season.

how many of the squad could play at a higher level ? a couple at most.

and how many are actually conference players at best ? probably half of them.

the squad is piss weak, and thats why a massive clearout is needed.

I concur again!

Maybe we can sell them to Luton then. I doubt we'd get as much as for Boydy mind.
They won't fall for that one twice.

I'm not saying they are top 6 quality, but surely a side that can beat WBA and Stoke (albeit weakened sides)
could have taken 10 more points from the season, which would have given us a cushion instead of the mess
we have been in over the last few games.

I agree the squad needs a radical overhaul, but if players had been played in their best positions
e.g Clarke, Sweeney, Liddle, Brown , Monkhouse, surely we could have picked up three more wins.

Lets just agree to disagree and hope we get rid of the dross, hang on to the decent players and add
some experienced and hopefully quality players, so that next season we have a side we can be proud of.

Ah Brighton. Yes my humble apologies Chip.

This the Brighton who the commentator on 5 live said were now in control and looking likely to score.

So yeh, its another shite post, and I am completely wrong, Pools safety was never in doubt.

Even though plenty of those at our match are saying it looked like a good number of pools players were trying to throw the fooker.

But hey, as you say in a later post, you werent even listening, so had no idea just how dangerous the position had become.

I bet Pools players did. I wonder how many of them had had a bet similar to OO's.

Carlisle never at any point had a better goal difference than us,so at no point were we in the bottom 4.
Maybe it took other teams incompetences to keep us up,but at the end of the day we are still up.
Lets not forget we're a lower league club with a crap attendance, there are bound to be seasons where we struggle & its those seasons that make the good ones more special.

Still doesn't excuse Saturdays performance

What ever slim chance of going down was there, the goons tried to reach it and if anyone thinks otherwise they are a tramp or a beggar

it doesn't excuse the entire season. Not even slightly. But its in the past and we know that Turner is making MASSIVE changes in the squad to ensure that it happens again. Lets just start looking forward
