Ali Brownlee's first question was about what pressure Southgate is under.

Did we expect any less?

Quite intersting what Turner has said during Berts call.

It appears he does see same things as us!

We haven't got any full backs, the keepers aren't very good (he didn't defend them) and we don't have a right winger!!

Now some bloke has just said he walked out when Budtz through the ball out against Scunny!! It was after 12 minutes!

Turner has been superb here like, everything Wilson wasn't. Whatever you say, he cares about our club.

Oh and it sounds like Dimi is on his way back in the summer, he's just about said it!!

I agree that he cares about the club, this is not in question. Its the ability to get the team sorted that people doubt. He is good at PR and always comes across well on the radio.

A manager who is prepared to openly discuss fans' specific criticisms is a fantastic thing after years of robot manager-speak. It might not make him a good manager, but it certainly does nothing to harm my sense of belonging as regards Pools.

Another whopper from before they went to the interview with beaky Southgate from Brownlee their;

"We talk to former goalkeeper Andy Collett about his time at Middlesbrough"

He played 2 games for the smognoncers, then almost as an afterthought

"and his spell with the Quakers"

He played 126 games for the bucket rattlers.

I didn't catch all of the programme, but nearly all the callers criticised the gk situation and several suggested getting Dimi back. CT recognised the defence at large needed strengthening but didn't criticise the gk's specifically.
As regards getting Dimi back CT said how do you know we haven't tried and aren't trying to get him back or something like that. The suggestion was he might/will be on his way back.

I think CT or the club had discussed with leyton orient the possibility of Boydy coming back also, CT said he was signed up for 2 and a half years, no idea from when that period started?

CT also mentioned Norway was being considered as a source of new talent, Norwegians keen to play in the English league, CT also said they were very professional?

Brownlee has the annoying habit of refering to every player who ever had a brief flirtation with the Toxic on Tees world beaters as being a borer player first and foremost ..... and everything else is of secondary importance, no matter what they subsequently achieve.

Since he returned to Tees, the station seems to be little more than a division of the borer propaganda machine.

Clever work from CT here. The fans are already buoyed by a good win on Saturday so feed their heads with half promises of former stars returning if he's still in the manager's job come next season to get everyone on his side.

Can't get anything passed me. :coool:

if ior trust turner enough to give him money to spend then i have no major issues with him being manager beyond this season. I like turner, he sees the same sort of things as i do, we can relate to him very well and he also likes to get animated on the touch line. He may not be the best manager in the world but if he can cadge some money off uncle ken then we might see some decent additions to the squad

I'd prefer it if he gave a different manager money to spend but I know what you mean.

Would you feel the same if he took us down though?

The damage had been done by Wilson, that became abundantly clear in the interview, CT tried to fix most things but couldn't sign better defenders than what we had.

Ken probably trusts CT whereas I don't think Ken trusted DW, so maybe the purse strings get loosened.

I got the feeling there was to be a major rebuilding exercise in the summer, could've been wishful thinking though.

i agree. Turner has said on more than one occasion that there are better players in norway and a lot want to play in england. It would not surprise me if there were 7 or so new players this summer with 3 or 4 coming from scandanavia

I'm afraid it would surprise me if we got 7 new players. I'm not saying we won't, but it's been a long long time since we had that kind of influx and there has to be a reason.

ok well im assuming that we will get another keeper. Two new full backs. At least 2 new strikers (we will only have brown). I believe that is the minimum we have to see come in) also maybe a defensive midfielder as i can see boland being released. So thats six. I know we dont normally see that many however i think we will be releasing at least 4 of the first team squad and porter is leaving so thats at least 5 we need to replace...

I think both goalkeepers are out of contract, so that is presumably 2 new ones in.
Joel is rumoured to be off so that is three.

Boland may be released so that's four, a new L/B & R/B makes six without even trying too hard.

Hmmm not really sure about this to be honest. They may want to play in England but could we afford them?

The top half of the Norwegian Tippeleague is about the same standard as lower Championship IMO. with wages probably slightly less. Anything below the top league is part-time and more league 2/Conference standard. Things have improved here since the days of Jan Ove Pedersen with the top five/six clubs attracting crowds of 15,000+. We could possibly get players from the bottom half of the Tippeleague but I'm not sure they would be that much better than what we've got and it would be a bit of comedown for them I think.

I don't think Chris Turner thinks the best forward is for him to be manager either, don't quote me on this it's the vibe I got from the way he was speaking. He admitted his record since taking over is terrible and when asked about Colin West he said whatever happens he wants him to remain at the club, if he was sure he was keeping the job he could have answered that question with more certainty. I think we'll be getting a new manager in the summer as well. It wouldn't surprise me if moves have already been made to put him in place.

i just hope the club employ someone as enthusiastic about the club as Turner, but with the hunger of Cooper, that would be exactly what we need right now, that and 7 top players

I think Dave Penney would be a great move.

It sounds like whoever comes in is going to have plenty to play with in transfer market, Turner said we have the finances to compete with anyone (apart from Leeds, Leicester, and maybe Huddersfield) in League One and are willing to pay as good wages as anyone else.

It was a massively positive 2 hours from CT, I'm already looking forward to August!!

Have to say what a difference a week makes, brilliant win from the team and a positive interview from chris. I dont want him to be manager next season but he defenatly has a long future at the club he showed he cares with the interview and answering fans questions.

We are all looking forward to a good close season and getting ready for next year I think we can easily aim for the playoffs by just simpily sorting the defence situation out

Given Mick McCarthy's gift for getting teams promoted but being unable to keep them promoted, I think Wolves should sack him now and send him to Pools.
Then as soon as we're in the Championship we can tell him to welcome to the board too.

Have to say what a difference a week makes, brilliant win from the team and a positive interview from chris. I dont want him to be manager next season but he defenatly has a long future at the club he showed he cares with the interview and answering fans questions.

We are all looking forward to a good close season and getting ready for next year I think we can easily aim for the playoffs by just simpily sorting the defence situation out
and by replacing porter with someone of similar quality

we already have one james brown, but agree we do need another striker but think Brown, Lange or Nardiello will be a great strike force for next season
