What a laugh eh, so other than the centenary tournament, with huddersfield (also in their 100th year), sunderland ressies, and a scottish team whose name escapes me, and the almighty brick wall, (which is so embarassing, far too overpriced imo) what have we done to mark the clubs 100th year??

Are there any other things in the pipeline??

ps sorry if im being ignorant and havent noticed anything else, but nothin other than them two spring to mind

Well there's a book coming out - which was paid for up front (£30 odd quid!) by many over a year ago now. Perhaps we should have asked which centenary it was to celebrate.

was the evening with richie humphreys an earmarked centenary thing? or was that for richie?

so put yourself in ior/uncle kens shoes, what would you have done to mark the 100 year?

the centenary dinner was the best thing. The tournament at the start was the right idea however it went pear shaped when two big teams pulled out. I dont think there was much more they could have done.

Why spend MORE money on something you don't own?

The sound system was new a couple of years ago. They could actually do with turning it down a bit as the speakers aren't powerful enough for the amp.

I reckon in these days of clubs going into administration it's enough for Pools to still be in the Football league after 100 years given the gates we get these days never mind the third tier of it.
When you look at the Blue Square thingymajig have a glance at teams like Torquay, York, Rushden, Wrexham, Oxford, Cambridge, Barrow, Kidderminster, Halifax and Mansfield. Not to mention lower down the pyramid at the likes of Southport, Maidstone, Newport County and Workington.
We should be happy that we aren't in either of those lists and that the club is in rude financial help because it is well run and doesn't overstretch itself.

What more do you want from a small town club that has struggled for survival for 90% of it's existence.

If consistency and regular glory is what you want then get yourself a Man Ure shirt. It's the easy way but you'll look a prat and deserve the contempt. Your choice.

Rushden, Oxford, Cambridge, Kidderminster, and Maidstone don't count: they were never proper league clubs in the first place.

Always thought the league structure was more a multi-story car park but I like this pyramid idea you speak of is it the same idea of the pyramid scheme were the bloke at the top scams all the people at the bottom? oh just remembered thats what Man U do!
