Well every news channel carrying it, not yet 100% confirmed but BBC say Iain Dowie being brought in on coaching staff.

Mind you if it an April fool the mags fans will be devastated

Great appointment if he keeps them up and stays. If they go down and he departs it will be a double whammy for the Mag masses who will leave in droves!

Dowie on the coaching staff beggars belief!

I don't see how Dowie is such a laughing stock, what has he done so wrong? Good reputation as a coach and not so long ago a good reputation as an up and coming manager. Shearer has never conducted more than a couple training sessions, Dowie has that experience.

Newcastle will stay up, the negativity surrounding them has disappeared in one appointment. Can you imagine what the atmosphere will be like compared to the rest of the season?

A bit gutted really I wanted at least two of the pointless North East Premiership also rans to go. The smoggies are doomed clappp rolf :coool: rolfl :grin: I suppose it's up to Sunderland to slide now!

I think it will be;

Hull
Smoggies
WBA

If Dowie ever applied for the Pools job I'd have him here tomorrow. He was mint last time he managed in the third division. Charlton is the only club he's failed badly at, but Pools wouldn't be asking him to do well in the Predictableship would they.

Anyway, anyone who coins a term like bouncebackability can't be all bad. Ask Neale Cooper. :grin:

Shearer is the man who got Mike Newell the job at Pools. It was his recommendation that swayed Hovercraft. But he forgot to tell Ken that Newell is not a Yes man. :wink:
