We DO need a massive clearout but there is too much 'loyalty' and favours to mates at Pools. The usual suspects will get another contract and we will struggle next season. Sadly I cannot see a quick solution to the current problem. Until we get a manager in with no ties to the club and no loyalty to Humps et al with the ability to build a new team we are in for a bad time.

What scares me is that we will probably allow CT to give the dross new contracts in July and sign some more poor players before we appoint a new manager. Ken needs to get a new manager in NOW to shake up the team and assess the rubbish in the squad prior to contracts being renewed.

But then, this is Pools and we know they will make the same old mistake time after time banghead

HOdcroft needs to fook right off as well imo. IOR need to reassess his position at Pools. His best mates with Turner, Humps is Turners blue eyed boy. All stinks imo.

I agree Grave all the favourites will be rewarded

Hodcroft is the only reason IOR own a football team man, so the chances are that if there is No Hodcroft, there will be no IOR either

Well this is sad IMO as much as im over the moon IOR have continually bankrolled us, kept us afloat blah de blah. We have one or two many people inside the club with too much of an influence (this is my personal opinion). Turner will never leave the club either as long as Mr Hodcroft here and certain players will never leave as long as Turners here. All fooking stinks imo, for once i dont think i want to go to the poty do this year because i dont think i will be able to control myself in front of the spineless twats.

A big clear out is needed, but a club as small and as unattractive as ours couldnt possibly replace 10 players that need to be got rid of. We should of done it gradually over the last two seasons, 3 or 4 at a time, players like Mackay , Foley, Robson , Sweeney should never of been given contracts.

We are in a mess, I feel sorry for any incoming manager having to work with svengali Turner in the background. Turner is Hodcrofts eyes and ears while Hodcroft is out of the country, basicallly its a dictatorship at Pools. If Turner is now in charge of team affairs who is doing his old job? The answer is he really didnt have a job did he.

IOR need to go if we are ever going to taste success, but we are all scared that we will return to the 80's or even go out of business, but hey isnt that whats slowly happening anyway under IOR.

Got to disagree with the Sweeney thing like. In previous seasons Sweeney never had a bigger critic on the terraces than me, accusations of him 'hiding', making short passes and then standing in stupid positions so he didnt get the ball back etc. etc. were levelled at him weekly by yours truly.
This season and some of last he hasnt got a bigger admirer than me, totally turned it round, put in good performances at full back and in midfield, topped by a goal which we should be deliberating over for weeks to come, well done Tony son. Wasnt it only a couple of weeks ago he gave the ball away in midfield resulting in a serious attempt on goal, who was it who chased back and redeemed himself by stopping the goal, would that have happened in the last few games?
Answer aye, but only by Sweeney.

I've just had a massive clearout - I had a huge plate of spicy lamb casserole last night, followed by a big slice of chocolate cake, washed down with several bottles of beer. I'd give it at least 15 minutes if you want to use our bog.

I take uit from that remark you havent been to watch pools in two years or so and have spent your time watchin your real team on the tele?

Get a grip and come and stand on the terraces and then tell us sweeney should be a gonner.

POY this season by a country mile

To be fair to ronaldo I was disappointed with Sweeney over recent seasons. However he has done well this season especially given he has been asked to play at right back. VERY few goals we have conceded seem to be attributable to Sweeney unlike Ritchie, Nelson and Collins.

Sweeney should definitely get POTY this season.

I think Sweeney has had a decent season anyway but hadn't thought of that. It is a very good point.

Sweeney has had a reasonable season and could be getting back to the form of a few years ago. What I said was based on his performances of the last two years up until this season, which in my opinion didnt warrant a contract extension. I am still not convinced he is an effective defender week in week out, like Turner I believe his best position is midfield. The fact he scored two goals on saturday obviously gained him a few fans, the experts who knew he was a good player all along NOT! We cant afford to be soft as far as contracts go , if Foley Robson or Mackay scored two goals no doubt they would be given a two year extension. Lets hope sweeney comes good but we cant get away from the original point in that the squad is full of deadwood.

.. a bit like this board. Your grasp of running a football club is as tenuous as my knowledge of Mongolian mountain goat breast feeding milk temperatures on the tundra ...
