Ditto!

A true legend. I remember watching that penalty live and jumping around like a madman when he scored. A great moment.

Ironically we have spent so long on this board slagging off England players for spineless talentless performances yet now we are doing the same boat with Pools.

No one could ever criticise Stuart Pearce for anything - he's one of the few genuinely decent people in football. It was one of the great penalties of all time. Not as funny as John Terry's miss last year, but great all the same.

Mister I, I get your meaning but that's perhaps not the best example.
I remind you of the day almost four years ago when you rang up a certain pub in Montpellier after a certain Mr Humphreys had done exactly what Pearce did there.

Roll up, roll up. The ever shrinking Humphreys fan club is in session. Much like Martin Scott, you can always rely on Gremmlin to grasp any positive.

Ian, you would still want him in the team if he was a one legged baby killer. I know you like to dig out old posts so show me where I've said four years. My gripe with him initially was over the Cooper thing which by the way I didn't know about when that Montpelier phone call took place.

For at least two years he has been living on past glories and has had no business being in the first team. I'm convinced he has compromising photos of someone at IOR.

My comment wasn't particularly meant to be in defence of Ritchie. Anyone who jumps to that conclusion hasn't thought carefully about the parallel.

If I was going to hold someone famous up as an icon for tireless application, it would more probably have been someone like this guy. Wrong sport like, but one of the most gutsy performances I've ever seen
