I got told the other day that many muslims in the country get away without paying council tax by alleging that they pray in their houses at least 5 times a day (basically meaning that their houses are deemed to be a 'mosque'). Apparently there are 60,000 registered residential 'mosques' in Bradford!!!

Obviously as a result those who live in a house and not in a 'mosque' are required to make up the difference. banghead

and APPARENTLY Hitler didn't kill any jews either - rumour is a dangerous thing

edit:

here is a bit of info that may be of interest

"religious buildings are exempt.
but as i remember, a 'regular' house cannot be deemed a religious building..it has to be a church or mosque, specifically built for that purpose.
many tried that one and failed."

Yes. Actually it's a sliding scale.

5 people living in a house is a mosque
10 is an temple
20 is a high chapel
50 is a monastery
and 100 is an abbey

Hope this helps

I wish I had known this 16 years ago, can I convert the house retrospectively, and reclaim back all my Council tax?
