A very good point today, and it could have been all 3. every player performed well with no outright poor performance from any of them.

First half we had the better chances and a good save by the keeper from Collins. Mackay, who had a good all round game has a chance were I thought he should have shot, and could even have been a penalty in the same movement, but I was at opposite end of the ground so cant be sure.

We then commit suicide and a lapse in defence from Collins allows them to take the lead just before half time, a little unjust in my opinion.

Barrett has made a good save in the first half tipping the ball over the bar from a good effort. That and the goal are the only efforts Colchester have in the half.

Second half we seem to still have the upper hand, though they look dangerous on the break and I think they may well get a second from some sort of breakaway.

Mackay and Guy are leading the line well, and Clark and Liddle are comfortable in midfield.

Jones has a decent game on his return and is replaced midway through the second half, more tactical than for a poor performance and I think it was more due to him not being fully match fit after his injury, by Foley who runs at their defence and looks dangerous and also has a good game.

The goal comes from a corner, which is put into a dangerous position by Liddle and just away from the keeper to be attacked by Nelson who powers his header into the centre of the goal.

With 4 points gained from the last 2 away games, the players have set themselves up nicely for the 2 forthcoming games, were once more a return on 4 points wont be to bad.

7 points clear of the bottom 4, may not be were we wanted to be but with the last 2 away performances things are certainly looking better than they were after Orient.

Build on them and we will be ok, but we need to keep picking up points, and keep this little run going.

Well done to every player over these last 2 games, they seemed to have got some pride and passion back. And hopefully realising that we, the supporters will support them when they earn it. This week they have earned that support.
