What did you think of MK Dons new stadium.

Personally I thought it was ok with plenty of car parking space, BIG comfy seats with plenty of leg room, bars ok (not cheap though) and would give it an overall score of 8 out of 10.

Should look well impressive when finished.

£20 to get in at Brighton the other week and £16.70 to get into MK Dons banghead . I was really impressed but it just didn't seem right having plenty of leg room, I was far too comfortable. bbolt

You were sat right behind me BTW Mr Mad.

I thought it was a good stadium with good facilities & room to expand. Padded seats and good legroom better than most cinema's & theatres. The downside (for MK) is that with 8,000+ in there it was sparse and lacked any atmosphere. If they don't get promotion, and even if they do but do not attract a much larger following it will become a financial liability with a poor atmosphere.

It just goes to show how far we've progressed as a Club and how English football has progressed, sitting on those leather seats for the first time ever.

Compared to other places I've been, it was a complete luxury. I felt though I didn't have enough leg room, but then again I'm a tall guy.

The sheer size of the stadium hits you when you first go into the ground - that's done on purpose to entice people to come back.

The view was superb actually I thought.

The bar was a little expensive though and I didn't think much of the scores on the big screen.

And outside looked like a snowy building site - just like the rest of the city - that needs to be improved.

I'd say 8/10 as well.

My favourite grounds (in terms of design) that I visited with 'Pools:

Millennium Stadium
stadium: mk
Walkers Stadium
The Valley
Elland Road (massive)
Nene Park (unfortunately for facilities)
Kassam Stadium
Fitness First Stadium - Dean Court
Adams Park (picturesque)
Withdean Stadium (quaint, picturesque, nice quaint pub)

Worst old grounds:
Layer Road (smallest toilet in the world)
Sixfields (does nothing for me)
Whaddon Road (when they had the Portakabins!)
Brisbane Road (steel girders blocking view, wooden seats in a professioanl football club stadium in 2009!)

Great old ground (as well as our own, of course):
London Road (great atmosphere)
Priestfield (temporary seating since God knows when)
Underhill (if you like being packed in a small ground)

Well I remember when I was a young lad going to places like Orient with their wooden seats and the smallest stand I've ever been to at Colchester etc.

Never in my wildest dreams all those years ago, when 'Pools were struggling in the lower depths of the League, that I thought that we would be going to places like Cardiff, Leicester, MK etc 10 years on.

Alright Orient still has wooden seats but surely it can't be too long before they renovate that stand.

It was a culture shock sitting on that seat at MK for the first time and discrovering my bottom being cushioned by....something SOFT!

So it shows how far Pools have come as a club because your arse was cushioned at an away match, you are priceless. You never thought you'd be going to MK all those years ago because they didn't exist, it would be something difficult to envisage.

The facilities are superb, one the best grounds I've ever been to in that sense, in terms of what was available and comfort plus the view it's hard to beat really BUT I'm a football fan who likes proper football grounds. With 8,000 rent a fans inside the place was completely soulless, as they clapped along in unison to other clubs songs. It was dead, you didn't at any stage feel that you were at a football match, If you'd have closed your eyes you wouldn't have known.

Even with the missing side, I would say it's still alright, although really they should put a 4th side on it.

The first time we went there though from my Uncle's in Headington, we ended up driving through Cowley, and the Mini plant where all those workers have been sacked, around all the roundabouts to the ground.

We nearly followed the signs the Oxford Greyhound Stadiujm though, the first time, because the signs weren't clear from the city.

You can tell the difference though, after 10 years of sitting on hard seats when you get seating like Saturday, you know things are changing.

Running out to the Cult – ‘She sells Sanctuary’ was the second highlight of the afternoon for a few of us old rockers. The first highlight was seeing the headquarters of Marshall amplification opposite the ground, just over the A5.
