If we were anywhere close to signing him, would he really be coming on as a 66th minute substitute for Leyton Orient away at MK Dons last night?

I'd love it to be true that a deal is close, but I personally don't think there is anything in it, sadly. Would love to be proved wrong though.

i imagine we have heard small parts of the truth which have then been completely exaggerated. I believe we did bid for him but it was turned down. I believe that we have now moved on to other targets. If he is out of contract in the summer i would expect a move for him then

I said weeks ago that it was a non starter. It is increasingly evident, as we were informed at the AGM, that there is no money. This may have changed slightly due to the unexpected windfall from the cup run and the fact that we are getting so desperate up front.
BUT I am not expecting any sort of major investment at all.

Someone messaged me on facebook stating their boss is a director at pools and boydy was in talks. In fact I am going to ring the club now and ask them to make a statement regarding the matter as its about time the town's club told the town what exactly is the state of affairs regarding the issue.

Why would we make a statement!?

Couldn't it be counterproductive in alerting other clubs? Darlo could be sniffing again rolfl Or on the other hand they could laugh at you because it has all been bollocks. It is frustrating but I agree about us being hush hush about potential signings, look what happened when Windass rang Sky Sports News.

i have also stated from the outset that its bollocks and indeed at one point offered 10/1 on him signing.

however what i would like to know is why people VERY connected to the club, are actively putting it about that a deal has been done ?

there needs to be some degree of transparency. its inconceivable for instance that newcastle united would never ever disclose who they have and have not tried to sign.

if hodcroft and turner are publicy stating they have tried and been unable to attract championship players why dont they just fooking tell us their names. nobody will die if they do this.

Because we've only been in for one player and we got him confised

So are we starting to believe that maybe people within HUFC put out these stories about Dimi and Boyd, just to keep us all interested? If that was true I suspect someone at the club has some explaining to do. I suppose the club probably feel it stops them being embarrassed about the lack of transfers. Maybe they have never had any intention of bringing anyone in.

Or maybe we are just being paranoid.

Well you have to say it's like shooting fish in a barrel innit?? Three ways to get a rumour around, telephone, telegram and tell a fan.

Said fan then says 'I can't disclose my source as he'd get into trouble,' while all the club people are scanning the message boards laughing their arses off and running a sweepstake on it.

It's like believing a newspaper or an MP.

Don't.

It seems like certain people are told certain things by certain people. With me? Good. So, in that case, isnt it about time the certain people told these certain things, started telling us all who these certain people are, so that a) we can laugh at them, and b) they get into trouble. Instead of protecting their sources who are clearly taking the rise out of them.
