Tatie Peelings!!!!

Peeling the Spuds yesterday I said to our lass keep me some of the thicker Peelings cos I'm gonna cook them for my Tea tomorrow and have them with some dips!!!! :coool:

She called me a scruffy get!!!! :uhoh:

But they serve them in Restaraunts and charge top whack for them so I thought why not!!!! :roll:

But how do you cook them????

Do I do them in the chip pan or bake them in a little oil????

I use a tatie peeler that takes only a tiny bit off but our lass can't use it....she has to use a knife (which I can't use!!!!) and she always leaves loads of tatie on the peelings!!!! banghead

But if these turn out ok I won't be bothered anymore!!!! clappp

I've introduced the concept of baked taties here in the Peoples Republic and the denizens can't believe how nice they are smothered in tuna mayonnaise or the wonderful aubergine/pork mince/chilli dish they make here. There's two sorts of tatie here, one like we'd know, old taters, another similar with red skin, and two Chinese ones which are light, fluffy, slightly sweet and come in yellow or purple. They steam them as hand snacks.

Fookin difficult to eat a baked tater with chopsticks like..... :roll:

Our lasses sister has lived in Spain for the last 6 months, and all she wanted for Christmas was a tatie masher.

Apparently in Spain they have no concept of mashed tatie, they just can't get their heads round it. Hence her inablity to buy a tatie masher.

I wonder what they do/don't do with taties in the rest of the world?
