Get the lowest rate possible with the lowest fees. Don't add any fees to your mortgage, if there are any with a reasonable fee for a good product then pay it up front. Don't pay a financial advisor. Don't borrow what they offer just for the fk of it, stick to what you can happily afford to pay. And above all, use sunscreen.

Advisors are good at finding good mortgage products, and equally as good at finding extortionate fees to pay for them. Lenders should be made to deal with the general public and cut out all the cash grabbers if the public wants to do that.
