Im presuming the person who used "Kevin Henderson" and "hero" in the same sentance is yes.

hendo was a ledge

a back worse than my old dears yet he still clocked up 46 goals in 116 starts and 56 outings from the bench (as per stats from A Century of Poolies - PM me for a copy) and he come through the ranks the hard way - read about in ACOP.

I suppose your right, the fact that players like Kevin Henderson are thankfully in our past is a thing to celebrate.

I liked Hendo - he was an honest player who got where he did through shear graft and guts - he certainly wasn't naturally very gifted. He deserves admiration rather than criticism......

he scored a cracking overhead kick against York City. Almost did the same at Feethams - brought an outstanding save from the Darlo keeper....

You guys just cant resist arguing with Tree can you!? If you are seriously saying that Hendo was a hero and a great player then you all want sanctioning. If Tree said 'white' was 'white' you would have to disagree and say it was black.

And the reason is quite simple, he actually has a clue what he is talking about. So do I. There are only a small handful on here who do and he is one of them.

Kevin Henderson was 'ok', but a 'legend', keep of the drugs FFS. stpid

Because he posts just to get a reaction

No-one, not one person on this thread has claimed Hendo was a great player, not ONE, to one he was a hero
and to many others he was a decent player, who pulled his puds out for the club, never slated the fans and is more of man then you two will ever be

So to conclude, you two are the biggest bounders on this board, and believe me, that takes some doing

cult hero is a bit different from saying hero isn't it?

Hendo was off his time, he was what we needed back then.

He was a battering ram of a forward, he would chase every ball and take plenty of goals all game, he was like a lower league kevin davies.

He's also one of very few strikers in the last few years to get 20 goals in a season for us i believe (or just about 20)

I'm not saying he is a legend, a hero, a god, but at THE TIME i rated and liked him

Is that ok to say?

are you taking the pish

you do nothing but hide behind an avatar and abuse, ridicule and insult MEN who have access to this board and if they didnt find you so pathetic would probably consider beating the living shite out of you as your insults regularly deserve.

i'm all for opinions and free speech but when you are taking out of the bell end of a howler monkey and are truly a disgrace then the words become a jumble of shapes and people will stop noticing them or even seeing them.

if i had morals and could be arsed to be a moderator you'd be off this board quicker than it takes you to pump your boyfriend

Tree, Grave...what is the problem? Hendo was no footballing genius, we all know that, but he was an honest lad who pulled his puddings out and did his job to the best of his ability, you can ask no more of anyone than they play to the best of their ability,
So why the need to make snide comments after someones career is over and generally denigrate a lad who doesn't deserve it?

FFS. All I have said is that he was no 'legend' or 'hero' IMO. I agree with Yubeps post above that he did a job at the time and gave his all BUT it is the craziness of saying such players are heroes which I disagree with. He got paid for playing football didnt he? He should have gave 100%. I would give 100% too if I played for HUFC.

You guys really need to start reading posts properly, at no point did I say he was shiit. I actually said he was 'ok' but no hero/legend.

I will wait for an apology but I know I wont get one as you will no doubt not be able to read this post correctly either.

Hold it there, might I suggest you follow your own advice and try reading other peoples posts as well ...... and not merely lumping them into some porridge of bile and slag everyone off regardless off what they actually said as opposed to what you 'think' they said? I for one never said he was a 'hero', he wasn't...... and true, he could be justifiably classed as...OK. but you fail to grasp the main point, which is, in my opinion, ..... why denigrate the lad now, to what purpose?
if there's any apologising to be dished out, might I suggest it's sent in the direction of a bloke who was never gonna be a star, but did his best and deserves a bit better than mocking.

Only Flash and Boydy have beaten Hendo's league total of 17 goals since he got them.
Before that you have to go back to Joe Allon to find someone who beat him.

Whether or not you think he was a donkey, when you see the kind of company he's in, you'd be an utter bastard to slag him off.
